This is the swan song month at the Rainbow Scrappy Challenge 2014. This is the last month where we figure out our arrangements and finally sew everything together. And this is also the month I grapple with the problems of animal patchwork. It turns out that some of the blue and teal swans/origami cranes are quite a bit fatter than the others. They took exception to this claiming I switched grid size somewhere along the line. So now they are all assembled for a staff meeting where blame will be assigned. To me.

Poor swans, being called fat is such an insult. They are just comfortably padded for winter. Beautiful top!

Wow! That is great. The swans turned out lovely!

If your grid would have changed wouldn't the necks be longer, too? It's an optical illusion that the teal are fatter. When I first saw the arrangement I thought you were showing the Continental Divide. (Didn't recognize the necks and beaks right away.) Seems like there is a division of opinion, though. They must have met early cause all is black night yet.

Oh my! Well, of course it is your fault ... no swan could ever be at fault could they? And who ever heard of a fat swan? They are all svelte and .... well, swan like!!! Yours are particularly beautiful in all their lovely colors :)

I would tell them to back off, I don't see any difference. I love how they look divided though! Are they related to turkeys, cause I have heard they are really dumb!

I don't see any differences but they look great together! How big will this be?

I don't see the difference but maybe the waters were filled with more food on the teal month and they had ample feeding? Are you sure the fish are not to blame?

I don't see any big butts and I do not lie. And I think Swan Song is just adorable but I thought they were cranes and Crane Song is just not as catchy a name for a quilt.

I prefer the other "F" word - fluffy!
I'm sure no one would notice if you trimmed the tail feathers a wee bit ;)

I hate it when they don't match up. I know the feeling well. BUT this is going to be an awesome quilt once it is complete! Stick with it. Great job so far in the layout.

they need "fem-vertising"...they should feel just right in their bodies--kinda like all of us??? hugs, Julierose

I think they are fabulous, and like the rest of us - fluffy or not - all beautiful!

Twelve swans a'swimming . . . sorry, that popped into my head as I looked at the photo!

Sorry about the blaming issues :-)
