In case you think that Molly's fabric climbing may have enticed your kitten into similar activities, let me assure you that evolution itself has shaped this practice in cats. Here is Jimmy demonstrating this prowess back in 1997. This practice obviously served cats well in the wild, similar to their irresistible impulse to knock things off of ledges and tables.
