This week I'm joining Vicki W.'s Fall Giveaway, offering the chance each day to win a baker's dozen (13) of fat quarters. Last spring I had a single giveaway, where the winner got to specify what type of fabric they might like. This time I've joined for the full week...and so there will be six days to sign up to win a variety of fabrics: batiks, novelties, black and white etc.
Today is batik day. Just leave a comment (such as your favorite color or type of batik) and you may be the random winner of a baker's dozen of batik fat quarters. Then come back tomorrow to sign up for the next day's giveaway.
You have until Oct. 22, 2014 to leave a comment for each day and the daily winners will be posted on this blog on Oct 24, 2014.
And if you've noticed that this giveaway is severely lacking kittens, cat toys, and Tommy, then I suggest you leave a comment and then head straight to the QuiltingArtist blog where you can get your fill of the Tommy-approved adorable cat Lucy, who is posting today for the world blog tour.
Hopping over from Vicki's. I usually don't use batiks, what little I have used have been pink, green and yellow. I'm a brights lover! Thanks for joining in the fun. I'll be having a giveaway on my blog later in the week.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Batiks!! Can't help but love batik because of the huge colour mix, it's good point of not fraying and therefore great for raw edge appliqué which is handy for those of us who have an aversion/being unable to work on hand appliqué!!
ReplyDeleteYour superb collection would add greatly to my stash and the cats will love it!
Love Batiks. Favorite colors purple and orange/yellow. Favorite type of batik, mixed shades/colors in backround and different colors in the stamp. 24Tangent@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI am a big batik fan. I just ordered some polka dot batiks from Hancocks of Paducah. Just enough to get me started on a dotty quilt. Winter is coming and I am having visions of watching it rain and doing applique in a cozy chair.
ReplyDeleteGreat post.. Lucy especially liked the plug for her blog. I think there is going to be no living with her now.... Thanks, Sally!

ReplyDeleteOhh, the photo of this fabric just makes me swoon. I like and use all kinds of fabrics, but batiks are my absolute favorite - to quilt with and to wear. Purple and blue and green are my favorite colors. Thanks so much for the chance to win! And thanks for your lovely blog. I just discovered it via Vicki's blog, and I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts.
ReplyDeleteI always go for the blue batiks. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI like them all. I just finished a quilt with a red batik and white tone on tone. Beautiful. I bought some of Jenny Byers batiks, wonderful fabric. I lean towards blues and greens but I sure like this red.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite batiks are dark teal.
ReplyDeleteMy fav batiks have objects on them...like cupcakes, turtles or cats.
ReplyDeleteLove batiks. I do a lot of applique and batiks are the absolute best because they don't fray as much. Love all colors and use them all. Thanks for the chance to win some.
ReplyDeleteI love batiks! I prefer to use them instead of solids to give more depth and "texture" to a quilt!

I LOVE batiks, especially in bright colors...shades of turquoise and purple are my favorite. I have made a numbers of bags for my daughter and me from batik. thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI don't have favorites really, I just love bright deep colors, all colors are beautiful and can be amazing depending on how they are used, so I really love all and being new to fabrics I don't really know the differences yet between them so I just go with what I like visually from them.
ReplyDeleteLove the color saturations that you find in Batiks---so very hard to choose a favorite---how about ALL of them??? ;D
ReplyDeleteI adore batiks - they are so perfect for piecing skinny, long points in blocks like a New York Beauty! It's hard to pick a favourite, but I always gravitate to the blues and turquoises and pinks and corals.

I love all the batiks... really haven't come across any that I didn't covet. They are a bit harder to sew by hand but that's because the weave is really tight - a good thing in a quilting fabric. Thanks for a chance.
ReplyDeleteHugs
