Here's a little green owl who wants to join the May celebration of green over at the Rainbow Scrappy Challenge. The owls started as alternative Jane Stickle blocks...blocks that Jane Stickle made but didn't include in her famous quilt. But owls being owls, they soon wanted a quilt of their own. Of course, given the block is finished at 4.5 inches, this will be a very small quilt or take a long time to make.
Here are the owls that have joined the party so far. A ruby-throated hummingbird darted in to make everything even.
Very cute!
ReplyDeleteI did not realize those owls were so tiny! Even more adorable being that small.
ReplyDeleteYour owls' eyes crack me up! And what a fun surprise to see the hummingbird, too. Maybe this will turn into a wall-hanging?
ReplyDeleteEach of your owls is so cute and seems to have its own distinct personality. And that hummingbird!! My mom loved hummingbirds (their surname was Hummer), so I'm always reminded of her when I see one in any form.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you get such perfect fabrics for each one? Especially the eyes. I can't believe they are so tiny. That hummingbird looks ready to attack those owls, of course he is a monster size for a hummer. We get that kind around here. There's a female I call Jennie, who comes back yearly and chases any intruders from my feeder, which she personally adopted.
ReplyDeleteThe owls are outstanding! SO much fun (and that hummingbird is pretty awesome, too).
ReplyDeleteWhere DO you find all of these appliqué designs?
Those are small blocks but it would be a super cute wall hanging.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I'm hearing "She's Got Kaffe Fassett Eyes" sung to the tune of "She's Got Bette Davis Eyes". So, will you have enough different Kaffe circles for your quilt?
ReplyDeleteYour owls are too cute! Love the fabric choices.
ReplyDeleteYummy green owl, well yummy owls full stop! A small quilt of all these cute feathered friends would like so good hanging on a wall.
ReplyDeleteI love those round little owls! The eyes make them absolutely perfect.
ReplyDeleteThose owls are just terrific! My eldest daughter would love them...must show her these. She (gasp) does not like quilts...maybe I can convince her to let me do something with these little beauties.
ReplyDeleteadorable. And in shock if those wide open eyes mean anything!lol
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these blocks! They are so cute! Had no idea they were such small blocks.
ReplyDeletePretty small owls indeed, given the size of the hummingbird!
ReplyDeleteYour owls are stunning. I didn't realize how small the Owls are but you done an amazing job.
