Here I am practicing a sleeping pose in preparation for the Pets on Quilt Competition. I will confess that being overloaded with personality does tucker me out. And speaking of personality, today is Psychopathology Day for our week long fabric giveaway. As a reminder, I'm going to draw winners from the list of comments posted through August 6 and will post the winners on August 7.
Today's first prize is 800 mini-charms, that is, 2.5 inch squares. Let's just say that, in theory, there are no repeats and there are 800 of them. But I'm skeptical given that staff gave the accounting task to Buddy.
Would you hire this puppy as your accountant? He did roll all over them and make a mess. I had to upend a box of safety pins just to bring the attention back to me. And as you'll notice, Buddy still doesn't know how to take a good selfie.
As you might remember, back in 2011, staff completed a postage stamp charm quilt, and she still remains a bit obsessive about collecting fabric charms. Of course, I should also mention that there is a limit to keeping track of individual fabric patterns, and we have since found repeats in this quilt. One fabric was repeated three times! (P.S. Postage stamps finish at 1 inch square and a charm quilt means no repeats of the same fabric.)
Second prize is a package of 120 i-spy charms cut to 3.5 inch squares. Staff is working on another tilted I-spy charm quilt (instructions are in the tutorial section). So please leave a comment if you would like a chance to win either the mini-charms or the I-spy squares. If you want to leave a message hinting at your own personal psychopathology, I promise not to give you any advice. But instead you may just want to mention again how adorable I am.
Yeah...so staff said I had to include a photo of Buddy sleeping too. Boring!
You know, I had suspicions. First I found cat hair on my iPad. Then I saw Alfie gazing longingly out the window (of course, he always does that. He’s a cat). But then yesterday he began attacking my design wall and pulling down rows and blocks. THAT CONFIRMED IT! Alfie has obviously been in online correspondence with you, Miss Molly, and is learning some of your, um, questionable behaviors. How can staff complete their chores with such disruptions? But yes, you are adorable and so is your dog.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh such cute I spy fabrics. But not as cute or cuddly as Miss Molly or Buddy.
ReplyDeleteCharming post!
ReplyDeleteWatching anybody or anycat sleeping is boring, in my boring opinion! Especially if they snore. Or drool. Babies sleeping are a good thing, I guess, cuz they are quiet and staff can get stuff done, like laundry. I like the I-Spy squares because I want a grandbaby someday and they would help me make the most darling-est quilt ever!
ReplyDeleteI could use some charm square variety. What does it say about me that I like Buddy's selfie? Molly is cute, too.
ReplyDeleteEntering for the lover of fabric give always but really love reading about kitties antics

I am not a cat person - just putting it out there, because we have budgies!! However love I spy quilts and while my kids are nearly too old for such things as a novelty quilt, I am still using up the stash of fabric I own and making them for family and charity. Would love to do a swap of I spy charm squares with you if I dont win!
ReplyDeleteMolly, you are the most adorable cat ever, and obviously the most tasteful cat ever, too, since you (and you alone) managed to pick out the most adorable dog ever for your very own dog.
ReplyDeleteI have a 2-year-old who would love an I Spy quilt. Barring that, she would love to come play with you, Miss Molly . . . . (lynnstck[at]yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteYou are soooo smart to open those safety pins to get the attention back to yourself. Good job, Molly. Shahann@yahoo.com (just in case I'm a no-reply blogger.)
ReplyDeleteI Spy quilts are so much fun!
ReplyDeleteNo personality inventory is needed to know that yours is obviously vastly superior in every aspect, Molly. You are posing while Buddy is just sleeping. I like all sizes of charms.
ReplyDeleteMolly, you lead a charmed life and I spy a dog in cat's fur invading your territory. Good thing YOU are in control.
ReplyDeleteMy psycho problem is I'm totally confused. Who is who or who's on first? Who's the imposter? Do you have an office manager who could supervise the staff a bit more so I'm not confused by the green eyes cats or is that a dog? Or is it the brown eyed one? Now I have a headache and need to consume chocolate to get my endorphins back to help my psyche or some part of me.
ReplyDeleteSuzi is working up to her Pets on Quilts pose. So many quilts, so little time.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing sweeter than a picture of a sleeping cat (or puppy). Thanks!

You are so adorable.
ReplyDeleteI believe sleeping cats are SO adorable so people won't dare disturb their slumber ... even when they are on our laps and we need to move. Those mini-charms are almost as irrestible to me as a sleeping cat.
ReplyDeleteI think you will win the Pets on Quilts Competition. You could probably without practicing!
