Day Two Birthday Bash

Today is Day Two of My Fabric Giveaway Birthday Week (MFGBW).  First, as many of you already know, August is a dusty purple month with green overtones over at the Rainbow Scrappy Challenge. So today I am giving away twelve fat quarters of dusty purple, some with green overtones. If you would like a chance to win the drawing, just leave a comment noting that gray is always a better fashion choice than purple or how cute I am or whatever.

Once again, staff insists I show a boring photo without cats. Don't blame me.

And now I would like to clarify some obvious misunderstandings...especially the one where people think Buddy the Dog is my brother. Wrong! Please note my obvious feline pose. This is me at three and a half months.

This is a photo of Buddy the puppy taken on the same day. This is a dog's pose.

And here is a photo of Buddy the puppy cluelessly staring at a scratching post.

Here is Buddy the puppy, again, in a dog's pose.

But if you can't believe your eyes, there is plenty of other doggy evidence. For example, he comes when staff calls him. He goes crazy if staff says "treat" and he'll do anything for food. He makes a whiny sound and his meow sounds exactly like the noise a dog would make if they were pretending to meow. Plus he's a lap dog and wants to be with staff all the time. Disgusting. And the worst offense is that Buddy chases cats. And, of course, the most obvious evidence is that he has a dog's name...Buddy.

Here is a picture of me (a free range kitten) with three clueless rescue kittens and a stupid puppy.  Just because you are trapped on the same day does not mean you share a birthday with your fellow prisoners.

From the photo, you can also see that I am obviously the only one that doesn't belong crammed in a cardboard box. You can see me considering the amount of my litigation reward for pain and suffering. Please also note that I am the only one without that weird alien laser eye affliction.

  2. Grey is always my go to fabric choice, so it must be the best color. Purple and grey would be smashing together, though.

I knew I liked Buddy for some reason......dogs, you know.

  3. I say what the heck Molly, celebrate all month, not just a day or two.

  4. Grey is a wonderful go to neutral. If black or beige won't work, grey will.

Now about Buddy -- Have you considered that all of the above mannerisms displayed are those of a teenage male? Teenage males are obsessed with food and how to get it. The noise he makes, the dog poses, being a "lap dog", coming when called are all behaviors designed to obtain food from unsuspecting staff. I'd bet if you asked him what he was thinking about when staring at the scratching post it would be along the lines of "Not food".

    Wishing you much birthday fun!

  6. Well, Molly, you've made a believer of me! Your deductions and wit leave no doubt about it; Buddy is a dog. Now, about the colors do the month. Since they are not in my repertoire, I will trust you to award them to someone who doesn't mind color repeats. As for me (and you will appreciate this), I am focusing in beautiful GRAY this month. Gee, and I can think of you while I'm sewing.

  8. Grey is the best color of all especially on cats. OOPS - don't tell Me-new, the tortie, who rules our house I said that.

  9. Grey is obviously the b e s t color, as it goes so well with black and white! (Although purple is awesome, too -- think LSU Tigers -- felines -- in glorious purple and gold! Geaux, Tigers!) [lynnstck(at)yahoo.com]

  10. Good golly, Miss Molly...fashionable colors have always been a gray area for us. Fashion is not always a simple black and white issue. Oh, and our purples are always dusty...who has time to dust? - The Feral Gang that hangs at Cathy's Bed & Breakfast

  11. Dear Molly,
I'm happy you're enjoying your birthday month (week? only a week? what do you mean, only a week?), but how did you get in my fabric bin?
    I'll bet it's that dog's fault...

  12. You, dear Molly, are the perfect example of how gray blends with black and white.

  13. I think you deserve a birthday ribbon, a purplish one, for all you've endured with Buddy. Perhaps the staff could make one for you and a bell for Buddy so you're alerted when he's nearby!

  14. Grey is the new orange, no, wait, that's not right. Who doesn't need more purple, dusty or not. Molly you are definitely most superior to a mere dog. Being queen is tough work, but someone's got to do it.

  16. I can see that you are the only one with the good sense to sit in a plastic box. Everyone, including you, knows that plastics are the wave of the future.

  17. You definitely are cute relaxing in the plastic bin of scraps. Must have been hard work sorting them out. Thanks!

  18. Clearly grey is the superior choice ~ you've said so, & people must always believe the kitties.

  19. I am a life-long purple lover and I do believe every animal looks good in the color. If they don't think they do, they must be color-blind. Purple makes me happy. Some animals (and staff) should try it out and see if it works that way with them too.
