Fabric Giveaway

With the sale of the house pending, Molly insists that I have a fabric give-away. Both Molly and Buddy are each offering 12 fat quarters to winners of a random drawing. All you have to do is leave a comment telling me whether you want the selection picked by Buddy or Molly.

Buddy prefers neutral colors so you should expect Buddy to make a neutral selection. His favorite color is taupe. (And the Rufus hummingbird is his favorite bird and the photo of the hummingbird was taken by my brother Tom (yes, Tommy's namesake)).

It's really hard to guess what fabrics Molly might select. If you are respectful, she might be open to suggestions such as batiks or polka dots or orange or cats or whatever you want more of. But I certainly cannot make guarantees.

Molly does not think that giving away two packages of twelve fat quarters will be enough, but it's a start. If you're interested, leave a comment choosing either Buddy or Molly. And we'll see if Molly is open to suggestions.

The drawing will stay open through April 30 (our time) and Molly will announce both winners on May 1.

  1. Both kitties did a lovely job selecting bundles. I have a lot of neutrals, so I will pick Molly's pretties.

  2. Molly has great taste, so I'd let her pick fabric for me anytime.
And Buddy has great taste in birds, but that doesn't mean he has to catch one for me...

  3. I wonder if Molly would be willing to part with some happy yellows and golds. There is very few in my stash.

  4. How generous of you and the felines. I am a neutral kind of girl but would be happy with either of their choices. Thanks for a chance.

  5. I choose Molly b/c Me-new says that Molly is the cat'S meow (a cat who demands respect from the staff). If I choose Buddy, Me-new promises to feed the fabric to Lucy the dog.

  6. Definitely Buddy! I love Miss Molly's sass, but I'm really a dog person at heart.

  7. Molly's choice tickles my fancy:) my childhood cat was called Tilly, I loved that cat, now my 6 year olds daughter's best friend is called Tilly! That is boggling my grey cells. emilyste7ens at gmail dot com

  8. Oh buddy as I am re-stashing my neutrals these days...I love Molly's comments but I have always had dogs so Buddy it is...thanks for the chance , hugs, Julierose

  9. I think Molly's taste is like mine -- the stack you showed has lot of pretties in it! Bright, clear colors and whimsical prints are some of my favorites.

  10. I love, love, LOVE your blog! Molly and Buddy keep me laughing with all their antics, and your creative mind and gorgeous eye for color really light up my mornings. What I'm most pleased about, though--enough to actually attempt a comment--is that you've sold your house! You must be so pleased!! And as long as I'm writing, and really enjoy your fabric selections, it would be a treat to have a part of your own stash tucked into mine (maybe some of your cachet would magically cling to the fabric you're parting with). As usual, Molly knows best--her love of color and variety appeal to me, although Buddy's more subdued selections are pleasing in the same way as his more laid-back personality acts as a foil for her star quality. Again, so pleased you have been able to sell your house--Admiringly, Nancy O.

  12. That Rufus photo is amazing! I love seeing those little ones come to the feeders, but have never been able to get a photo like that. I am a neutral lover so will choose Buddy's selection, however, they look pretty possessive of their choices. Good luck getting them away from their fabrics!

  13. I would never let a *dog* choose my fabrics, so I pick Molly with great thanks. Smitty can't wait for all y'all to get here.

  14. Molly, I like batiks, bright happy rainbow/jewel colors. 24Tangent@gmail.com

  15. How fun for a give-a-way. Let's see what Buddy will select.

  16. Molly and Buddy both have excellent taste and I would put either to good use! I absolutely love your blog and your sense of humor--one of my favorites. Mike and Monster both say hi to Molly--I think they have a little crush on her.

  17. (Posting for my mom!)

Thank you for your generosity. Molly's favorites in clear, bright colors and child-friendly motifs will enliven my quilts for David's House (like a Ronald McDonald House) at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

  18. I would be happy to take bundles from either kitty, but I will express a preference for Buddy's choice of neutrals - no quilt maker can ever have too many neutrals.

  19. I pick molly! Thanks for the giveaway

  20. Congratulations on the pending sale! I'm bored with my stash of neutrals so I'll go with Buddy

    ReplyDelete
  21. OMG! The Rufus is my favorite bird.....so definitely Buddy! As of today we have our first grand baby here, who also has expressed a desire for neutral cats.....

  22. Fingers crossed for the sale. Will there be plenty of cat hair on the FQs?

  23. Emma, who looks a lot like Molly, insists that a dog OR boy choosing fabrics is a silly bet. And she knows Staff has a dot problem, so she thinks Molly should choose some dot fabrics to make Staff happy and maybe she'll get fed more often because three or four times a day with free-chooce crunchies is in no way enough. Staff says thanks for a chance and congrats on the house!

  24. I would choose Molly's selection. I hope the pending sale of your home goes through. Thanks for the chance to win, it's always fun to add variety to the fabric stash.

  25. My youngest cat, Kalia, thinks Buddy would do a good job. But Contiki, senior head of household, insists that Molly is the only one up to the task. Who am I to argue? Especially when Contiki suggests bright colours or batiks would make him the nicest quilt.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I think I would like whatever Buddy or Molly would choose. I do like brights.

    ReplyDelete
  27. You can't go wrong with neutrals, especially taupes, so I favor Buddy's bundle. They're both a couple of sweeties. :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. I would choose Molly's selection since I love polka dots, orange and cats. Good luck with the sale of your house. Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway. (shirparks@gmail.com)

  29. You have such a bossy little kitty, but isn't she sweet and adorable and very generous! Buddy's selection sounds grand (but I have to say I love that fabric in the last photo, fourth down from the top with the circles made of what look like green i's with pink dots. Aren't you finding it hard to part with fabric?

    ReplyDelete
  30. I love both picks Molly's and Buddy's and would be happy with either. I love the felines also as I have 2 feline owners myself.

What a wonderful shot of the hummingbird. When I have seen them outdoors they were always flapping away so a great shot.

  31. First, congrats on the sale! Moving cross country is a huge undertaking. Thank goodness you have Molly to help you with all the de-tales (or is it the other way around?) As for the fabrics, Alfie thinks Buddy's offering is practical, but Darla says girls know best. She is insisting we go with Molly. And since we all know that Molly really runs things around there, I concur. We respectfully ask Molly to put us in for her bundle.

  32. There's the rub, Molly or Buddy? Neutral Buddy or unconventional Molly? Heck, I don't really care, Best wishes on your move. In my neighborhood we have Anna's hummingbirds chattering about and being territorial.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Good thing you have the cats to help with the move. I'd like Molly's bundle, thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh, the thought of moving fabric elicits much empathy! I had lots of "helpers" when I did that, only it was a human helper who kept suggesting that I divest of fabric (and books, and other treasures). You're a better listener than I was. It's hard to choose between choosers, but if I could ask Miss Molly to pick out some batiks or some polka dots for me, I'd be delighted to lighten your load.

  35. Right now, I'm rooting for cats (my black pussy has 4 little balls of fur) so I will be overjoyed with anything. You have time to do mailings with all of your other activities?? Many thanks! Kathy in Colo repzjratplainsdotnet

  36. My four rescues suggest "Food not Fabric!" Since I am the Cat Mom, I'll choose Molly's non-neutral choices.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm with her! And that is one beautiful hummingbird!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I am happy with either, but I do love batiks and brights. I saw your quilts at Hampton, and was so glad to see your blog address in the description of the pig quilt. Love your blog - it is very amusing and I like your work a lot

  39. Three cheers for the pending house sale. I don't recall reading where you are going, although commenter Cathy indicates a cross-country move.
I'll go with Molly's choices. I suspect she'll substitute her selections anyway, even if I chose Buddy.

  40. Love your blog and your sense of humor. Molly definitely runs the show and I would like her choices. Thanks. Doris

  41. Definitely Molly's choices would be more fun but Buddy's would be more practical. Why not some of each? That's the way those of us who can't make decisions operate. The rest of you ask your cats. I really enjoy reading your blog and seeing your quilts and patterns you design. Very talented. I will leave my email address as sometimes my computer decides to make me a noreply blogger when really I am a reply blogger who often gets frustrated with technology. Karen kthurn(at)bektel(dot)com

  42. Congratulations on pending sale! As a cat person, the antics of Molly and Buddy certainly make me smile. My cat 'Charlie' likes to help me sew by being right between me and the sewing machine watching and blocking. He however does not often rearrange for me. I would pick Molly's color way.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Although Molly is charming and knowledgeable about all things quilt, I just can't trust her . . . she likes to twist things up too much. Give me a dog any old day! Loyal, trustworthy, dependable . . . Buddy is my choice! (lynnstck[at]yahoo.com)

(BTW, congrats on the house sale!)

  44. Such a fun way to do a give-away. I am torn but feel I cannot really trust Molly so I am team Buddy on this one. Thanks for the chance to win.

  45. My cat, Patches, says to go with Molly.

  46. I like neutrals and I like brights. Today brights win. Thanks for the chance. dorthac at aol.com

  47. No offense to Buddy, but Molly has more experience with color choices. After all, she does run this blog on occasion and is always right there to help rearrange the blocks on the board. Glad the sale of your house is pending.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Tell Molly that I am on her side. We both love colors. And I do hope she will adjust well to the new house. Just be sure to take along some of her favorite fabrics.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I choose Molly and I will trust her good judgment to pick the fabric

    ReplyDelete
  50. While I am sure that both Buddy and Molly would pick awesome fabrics, I would choose to go with Buddy's choice. Thanks!

Please click on the delaineelliott above for my email link.

  51. I hope we read next that the sale has been finalized.
And if I'm randomly chosen I'll go with Buddy's selection.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Molly has the real sense of color in your family!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Does Buddy have good color sense?....I believe from my puppy book it says dogs see yellow and blue so if that's true I vote for Buddy's colors he picks.....Thanks again

    ReplyDelete
  54. Lol! Given Molly's mercurial nature, she has taste more like mine. Please let her choose. I'll be happy with which way she swings.

    ReplyDelete
  55. If Molly is open to suggestions, I'd suggest batiks. But I certainly appreciate her taste in anything! Thank both of them for their kind and generous offer!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I would like any. I am into jewel tones at the moment. Thanks for the chance.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I trust Molly's taste completely. She seems quite sassy!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Ohhh that's a tough one - but since I am making so many manly quilts - I think I will go with Buddy! Good luck!!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. So glad to hear you sold your house! But hope you have somewhere else to live? Too far to post fat quarters to Australia, but good luck with downsizing and moving your stash.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I love your blog! So funny and inspires me to sew. Wow, you get a lot done! Such fun things and such neat fabric. Molly and Buddy are both adorable, I wonder if you could post a video of them "helping" you rearrange your blocks sometime; I would like to see the creative process. :-) Re fabrics choice: bright and something novelty/silly, so maybe Molly's picks if I am lucky enough to win. Thank you for your blog!!! Congrats on your house sale/move!

    ReplyDelete
  61. So glad you sold the house. I believe I remember you saying something about moving to the west coast to be closer to family?? If I win your fabulous drawing I would choose Molly's picks.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Well, I'm team Buddy. Being as how Molly can be unpredictable and may or may not take suggestions, I'm going for awesome neutrals by Buddy :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. I'm sure both Molly and Buddy have excellent taste, but I'm in the mood for some neutrals. Thanks for the great giveaway, and good luck with the home sale.
