Green gems

Time for green! To ease back into the RSC, I started with the hidden gems block...in this case, green gems. For more green goodness, make sure to visit SoScrappy's Rainbow Scrappy Challenge link up.

I wanted to show the complete set of hidden gems up on the design wall, but was prevented by a wave-like motion. I looked down and found Molly had hooked her claws into the flannel and was shaking the blocks off. So now for your viewing pleasure, both the shaker and the shaken laying on the floor where everything belongs.

The night before last our area had a little over 3.5 inches of rain. A nearby river was quite swollen...but only enough to reach the road but not run over it.

Here's the same river from a bridge.

  1. I didn't know those blocks were called Hidden Gems, but that sounds like the perfect name for them! They are great in the colors you have so far! Looks like you had quite the rain storm - hope the effects of it have not been too terrible.

  2. We too have had days of rain and chilly temps. But the grass sure is green and growing.

Love the colors in your quilt top.

  3. What a beautiful quilt these colors make together. I laughed at Molly's shenanigans. She knew if you put the blocks up on the wall she wouldn't be in the picture. Smart Molly! ;^)

  4. Your RSC Hidden Gems look wonderful together. We're into day 3 of pretty well non-stop rain. Great for the grass and the trees are greening. That looks like one angry river out your way.

  5. They certainly are gems, so pretty all together. Hope you don't get too much more rain.

  6. I like the hidden gems, it's going to be a super colourful quilt. That river certainly is flowing pretty swiftly and does look swollen.

  7. I started these and then got side-tracked. Our Feb/Mar trip to FL always puts a wrinkle in RSC for me. We've had more rain in the first week of May than the normal May monthly rain total. We're supposed to stay unseasonably cold for the next 10 days. The weeds are in heaven.

  9. That's an ambitious block for RSC, but the finished quilt will be stunning.
