Chameleon Background

I was making more chameleons and am having second thoughts about the background I chose. It looks to muddy to me now.  If I go lighter for the background, the chameleons will pop out more. The top fabric is almost all white with hints of blue. It's my favorite, but I don't have much of it. The middle fabric has a range of light pastels on white and is printed with dragonflies so the chameleons won't go hungry.

  1. Didn't you say Fabric Depot is having a sale on batiks? (wink wink)

  2. Mmmm...I loves me a good dragonfly in the morning. Breakfast of champions.

  3. Whatever background you choose, the chameleons will adapt to it, right?

  4. So, why not use all the colors? The chameleons might appreciate it as much as they do the dragonflies. This is going to be an awesome quilt in your usual knick-knack-Sally-wacky style.

  5. It is so refreshing to read that I am not the only quilter that has fabric selection remorse!!! I think a mix of fabrics would be wonderful.

  6. I agree on the mix. It would look like the chameleons are in a dappled forest where some are in the light and some are in shadow.

  7. I agree with Cathy, use all the colors, add more even. As Maryl said, the chameleons will adapt. But keep a close eye on Molly. You know how much she likes chameleons.
