Scrap Giveaway
What is the most minor inconvenience of a pandemic? As quilters, it may be not getting to dig through scraps at the free table at your local guild meeting. It's fun to drop off, pick up some, and even help someone who is looking for a particular something.
So Molly is determined to send someone a small box of fabric scraps (not table scraps). She thinks that the box should be small enough that she can't be stuffed in it accidentally and sent who knows where.
Molly also thinks that the person or cat receiving the box should pick what kind of fabric they want...Kaffe collective, batik, plaid, cats, 30s, turquoise, cats,
or even pink if you are participating in the Rainbow Scrappy Challenge and need an extra boost.
And Molly suspects some of you are looking for pink pig fabric...
If you would like to win the chance to receive a box stuffed with scraps of your choosing, leave a comment below explaining what you would be looking for on the free table.
And sadly, this is only open to people and cats in the United States because international mailing would cost more than the fabric. So let's just wait for the diamond giveaway...
Comments will be collected through Sunday, June 7, and then Molly will pick the winner. Make sure to provide an email so we can contact you. A "no reply sender" just won't make the cut!
And now I must warn those of you with special sensitivities to turn away to avoid looking at the photo below because it is quite disturbing.
Buddy and Molly are breaking social distancing rules just to mock me.
OK, Darla and I would like to enter the drawing for free scraps! I prefer the bright and Darla likes wild, so we’re in agreement for the most part.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh those cats are Sooo ADORABLE. I don't need scraps, in fact, maybe I should send you some of mine!
ReplyDeleteI'd love some batik scraps in turquoises or some flying pigs. Your cows & bright farm animals are a serious wake-up in the morning. I love them!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing Molly, she is just the cat's meow! I'd really like some of the pig fabric, the Kaffe is right up my alley. There's a quilt in my future of Kaffe fabrics. Pet your babies for me.

ReplyDeleteOh, those Kaffes! (Not "gaffes", autocorrect, you insulting tyrant!) Which includes the Martha Negleys--I thought she was a secret known only unto me. When I saw your blocks I had that feeling one does when someone else says they love an obscure book you love--thrilled that someone shares your taste, and then a weird possessiveness, as if that book is "yours", how can anyone else on earth truly love it? Do you know what I mean or should I delete this post/my account? I have five cats--four squabbling siblings and their mama--waiting to pounce on the fabric and the box when it arrives.
ReplyDeleteI love scraps! Would love some turquoise or 30's prints--I am working on a hexie quilt in 30's prints and need more variety. Why is it that everyone else's scraps are so much more fun than mine?
ReplyDeleteYou have wonderful scraps, so bright and cheerful, perfect for the comfort quilts our quilt ministry group makes. Count us in your drawing please!
ReplyDeleteI miss going to my favorite store to pat, and buy, fabric. Most of all I miss going to thrift stores and acquiring scraps. And no, I do not have boxes labeled TBS (to be sorted). I make quilts for Wrap-A-Smile so I would not be able to use holiday, patriotic, religious or pig fabrics. I must be the only quilter in the universe who does't know what or who Kaffe is! Need to look it up, I guess. Offering to do this is very generous of you.

Turquoise or batik. I have felt the loss of the free table to refresh my scrap bin as well. I make a LOT of scrap quilts! juliagraves82@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteHappy Scraps - Happy quilter, such cheerful colors and animals. Thanks for the chance on the give away.
ReplyDeleteYou always have the best scraps and such variety. I would take anything bright and colorful, Kaffe and batiks and wild combos. The non-social distancing photo is awesome.
ReplyDeletePat
Pinks, Turquoise, those farm animals are super cute. Cats are fun! I have two, down from three, husband won't let me get another. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI would take a kitty in a box, but I think my furkids would be rather annoyed with that. I have a lot of scraps very much like you, but I would take a box of 30's to share with my granddaughter who's just started quilting at 5.
ReplyDeleteThat last photo is adorable. Hell will freeze over before Smitty would allow Sadie to snuggle like that. And that’s just fine with Sadie because she doesn’t want his boy cooties. You have great scraps!
ReplyDeleteDear Molly Cat, how did you know I have a great need for pink pig fabric? This month's color for RSC is pink and my stash is in need of lots of those lovely scraps! I promise to send you kitty smooches and mouse dreams if your paw chooses my name! xoxo

I love anything orange / yellow! But anything bright, really, will catch my eye!!!
ReplyDeletejulie.mirdoch@shaw.ca
I love scraps and make lots of scrap quilts. My existing scraps are low on purple and turquoise.

Oh I love the batiks and anything KF as I am trying to make a collage print. Can use all the scraps I can get. Thanks for the giveaway. Always fun.
ReplyDeleteI would like turquoise, dark blue, yellow, gold and neutrals. I am doing the postage stamp with solids in a limited palette, and don't have a good variety. email is catherinejarettlaw@gmail.com - don't know if I'm no reply or not...
ReplyDeleteThe Kaffe scraps are wonderful! That's something I don't have in my stash. Thanks for sharing! During this strange time it is especially fun to get fabric in the mail!
ReplyDeleteI would be looking for Kaffe, bright happy fabrics, thirties. A fun package would be such a good pick me up at this time. dorthac at aol.com.
ReplyDeletewould love to win!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to a guild meeting so have never been fortunate enough to browse a free table but if I did go to a guild meeting and did browse a free table I would pick up the unloved scraps left after everyone else finished browsing.
ReplyDeleteI love other peoples scraps, they pick the best fabrics! I would love a Kaffe box. I really don't need any more scraps, but since I probably won't win it is worth a chance. Also, I wanted to tell you how nice you are to offer this. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI love scraps and turquoise or cats would be my favorites. Thank you for the opportunity to enter the giveaway. Love the photo of Molly and Buddy! (shirparks@gmail.com)
ReplyDeleteI adore scraps! Especially other people's because they're often the pieces I didn't see the first time around! I would love pink or turquoise or a mix of whatever! Gizmo (my furry supervisor) loves a bag or box of scraps. When I open a scrap bag or bin he starts rummaging and pulling out his favorites. I'm planning to set him down with the strip drawer one day and then sew up his choices! It's going to be a true 'cat's eye' quilt! Bethastrand@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI love scraps and I would pick cats, batiks, nature and music. You can put in Buddy and Molly too. :-)
ReplyDeletelove the hugging kitties! I would be looking for cats, and polka dots of any kind.
ReplyDeleteI adore the photo of Buddy and Molly at the end of your post. Positively adorable!
ReplyDeleteYou're so generous to give away some of your scraps. I love scraps and if I were to win I would be thrilled to receive fabrics with roses and/or pink fabrics (for a quilt I have in mind but haven't started yet). Thank you.
I'd be looking for the fabric that could be used in a current project. Currently that would be rainbow colors, oranges, polka dots, and cats. Then I would think of future projects so would be looking for bright reds, blues and florals. Then I'd be looking for fabric that speaks to me, that when I look at it makes me giggle with happiness. Somehow I'd think I'd miss the guild meeting because I couldn't get pass this table. Thank you for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI love it!! a box small enough so Molly can't accidentally be shipped - ha ha!! And I am with you - scraps are just so fun! Plaids, Pigs and Kaffe are my kinds of scraps
ReplyDeleteI would love to be put into the drawing. I'm always in the lookout for novelty fabrics.

Awww... I love to see a picture of a cat and her pony!
ReplyDeleteI look for bright colors and cute fabrics. If it helps my case, I do have a cat at home.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to win :-)
A confession, I love all colors and fabrics... but my heart feels happier when I see the turquoise!
ReplyDeleteAfter making so many masks, and working in the hospitality industry- I would love to be considered for some fun! Teresa in TX reesiek at yahoo.com
I'd be looking for little scraps, like 1 1/2"-2". I'm making a postage stamp quilt and trying to use all unique fabric. I'm sure I've duplicated some because after cutting and sewing 2,000 they all begin to look alike! I've got about another 3,000 to find. I'd love some of your scraps! I've been known to dig in the trash looking for bits that others throw away. kthurn@bektel.com
ReplyDeleteWhew! Glad I haven't missed the deadline! *Is* there a box too small for a cat to be accidently shipped in? (I think not, judging from what I've seen on the internet.) My stash is woefully short of plaids and I'm always wanting to make scrappy quilts for young men "graduating" from foster care. Still, I suspect you could send me just about anything from your stash and I'd be thrilled. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love so many of the quilts that you show on your blog. Therefore I'm sure I would love playing with some of your scraps (although I certainly have plenty already!) Kaffe, batiks, rainbow, brights would all be great!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of you to offer a wonderful scrap give-away! I had a heart to heart discussion with all of my kitties, and I have a house full so it was quite the discussion, it was decided that I needed a little more turquoise in my life. We all agreed pink was the runner-up. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea!! Molly is a smart cat, going traveling via the USPS would not agree with her, I'm sure! I look to pick up scraps because I have scrapitis....I simply love scraps and break out in a fever if I don't get new scraps to play with ;-)
