August Scrap Giveaway Signup

It's the first of the month and it's time for another fabric giveaway. Originally, this giveaway was designed to fill in for the loss of the free table at quilt guild meetings. Maybe it's still doing that. But it's beginning to feel a little bit like "Meet Sally's Stash." I get to rummage in the depths looking for particular treasures, and you get a box of fabric that hopefully meets your request. Molly Kitten likes to think of the giveaway as "Make Room for New Toys for Molly."

To participate in the giveaway, just leave a comment (and email if you're a no-reply blogger) telling me what types of scraps you are looking for. Maybe you participate in the Rainbow Scrappy Challenge and you find yourself low on purples.

Or maybe you're really into flamingoes or you're celebrating August as flamingo month. Or you like roses. Or novelty. Or pink novelty. I will collect comments on this post until midnight (PST) August 4 and pick a winner, or two or three. Each winner will then receive a small priority box of the fabric scraps of choice. Sometimes Molly helps. Unfortunately, due to the cost of international shipping we are limiting this giveaway to within the bounds of the USPS.

And just in case you were wondering what happened to my daily challenge of "Put a Bird On It," it fell by the wayside. However, I do still randomly pick the bird of the month, and as you may have guessed, August is the month of the flamingo.

  2. So fun! I’m feeling the blues, ocean blues :). Izoofan2 @ Hotmail . Com. I would be so happy to have Molly curate something unexpected if I’m lucky and win :-)

  3. I'd let Miss Molly choose just the perfect accompaniment to the fabric scraps already littered with Aussie fur awaiting their fate! Anything goes?!

  4. Oh my goodness, that flamingo is adorable! Such a cute and clever way to play with scraps. My stash is definitely lacking purple. I seldom buy it so I don't generate many scraps. Sometimes though, you just need a little purple in a project. I also like bright colors and novelties, like the cute umbrella print in the purple stack or the print of the flamingo's feet -- is that turtles? Thanks for sharing!

  5. I love all scraps! Right now, I am drawn to bright colors but fall colors are starting to call to me. Thank you for the opportunity to enter the giveaway. (shirparks@gmail.com)

  7. I can attest to Molly's skill in picking fabrics! (Don't count me for the drawing - I just won a big stack and I've barely scratched the surface!)
I remember the first time I ever saw flamingos in person. They were so much bigger than I had expected. And so much pinker...

  8. I love bright colors, kaffee, 30’s. Thank you so much for the chance. I know with Molly helping a nice bunch of scraps will be won by someone. She needs more toys, don’t you know. dorthac at aoldot com

  10. Oh! I used to have one of those Pinkie flamingoes! I wonder what happened to it.... Don’t enter me for the scraps either, as I’m a past winner. Besides after talking to one of Molly’s lower-ranking employees, I’ve started buying fabric again.

  13. I love large scale prints in bright clear colors. Currently I am piecing quilts for extremely ill children at a local children's hospital so juvenile prints would be great.
By the way, one of my early childhood dolls was named Sally. That was a very long time ago.

  14. Oh, man, I would love some reds. I'm making a scrap quilt with 3" squares and I estimate I still need approximately 1 million 3" red squares, so anything would be appreciated.
Did you see the gorgeous flamingo photos on Kathleen McMusing's blog today? Pink is the color of the month for Patterns by Jenn, so it sparked some pink flamingo (mc)musings.

  15. This is so fun! I like novelty fabrics and seem to be always low on reds. My cat Cici says fall colors that will enhance her orange fur! But getting anything in the mail that isn't a bill would be exciting!

I'm loosing the battle resisting your postage stamp blocks, they look like they are fun to make.
Thanks for the chance at your giveaway!

  22. We are headed to the beach (late, thanks Isaias), so flamingos are perfect for August! And I gave away my tub of novelties to a mask making group. So novelty scraps are purrfect for me.

  25. Your fabric collection is so wonderful, any scrap pack would be great. I love the purples you showed, also Kaffes, brights, low volume... It's always so much fun to play with someone else's scraps!

  26. I've used all my blue scraps, and I'm feeling blue. I love even the smallest scraps. Perfect for my 1/4" hexies.

  27. I love your quilts and seeing all your fabrics and seeing what Molly & Buddy are up to! Your stash is amazing. Sometimes I see a fabric or two in your blocks that I also have, and for some reason that is exciting like getting a Bingo number. :-) I am currently cutting 2X2 novelty squares, so if you happen to have any little novelties, or something bright, those are my favorites. Thank you for being so fun and generous!!! rondacornelius @ hotmail

  30. I love all fabric and am looking for more unusual novelty. Time to make more I-spy quilts.I'm sure those cute kittens know all about fun prints like that.

  31. Did you know Patterns by Jen has a block of the month and this month is flamingo pink? What fun! I am on a teal/turquoise/aqua kick right now so that would be fun to get.

  32. I'd love to have some yellow scraps, as I'm always in the mood to add yellow. Purple too, and low volume to contrast with my favorite brights. Make sure Molly or Buddy doesn't stow away in the package, as they wouldn't have near as much fun here as they do with you and your multiple fun toys! susanprincess at att dot net

  35. So sweet of you to share. I have a lot of fabric, but when trying to pull together fabrics for a rainbow quilt, noticed my stash of oranges is pretty pathetic. If by chance my name pops out, I would love some orange scraps. Thank you.

  36. We have flamingos at our local zoo. Fabrics with animals, music, purples, golds, silvers, rainbow colors. Basically anything :-) We miss seeing Buddy and Molly.

  37. I have no reason to want new scraps, but somehow this has gotten the better of me. So throw my name in the hat, too, please. My candy pinks are depleted and purple is my favorite...yellows are looking mighty weak, too. But then again, novelty prints are fun. So I guess I'm saying anything goes. And perhaps, if I am chosen, some new cat toys might be on their way back? Freddie and Finn and Gabby all have favorites, so they can guide my selection...

  38. I would love some of your scraps, it’s alwys nice to add some new variety into the scrap pile! I would be interested in some novelties and/or low volume. Thanks for the chance!
