Today Molly (aka Vanna) is my presenter. Now that she is the only cat/kitten in the family, she may begin to take her responsibilities more seriously. Here she is showing the recent postage stamp blocks as a reminder that it is time for the scrap giveaway. And this time I may mix it up by sending out two larger boxes rather than three smaller boxes. (Haven't quite worked this out yet).
For the giveaway, if you are in the U.S. reachable by USPS, please feel free to leave a comment as your entry for a random drawing. In your comment, please let me know what kind of fabric you are looking for...green scraps, batiks, novelty, roses, cats... I also appreciate a way to contact you if you are a no-reply blogger.
After I pick the winners, I will pretend that I'm your local free table and send you a box of what you are looking for (hopefully).
In this case, the green scraps are from an estate sale I went to today. The quilter kept her fabric in bins by project. I thought I was picking up a bin of green scraps, but it was really a work in progress. She had embroidered four large Christmas panels...except one had a stain and a hole in it. I assume it was at that point that everything was packed away including green embroidery floss. She had a cat so Buddy and Molly found the bins FASCINATING!
And speaking of works in progress, here are some microspools I finished recently. I have finished all the darker spools and am now working on the light spacer spools.
And here is Molly showing you that the bird of the month is Toucan.
Last and least, today we found out that foster puppies also enjoy Molly's heated bed.
Oranges and bright batiks are always useful for scrap quilts. Always low on oranges. Love the kitty models. Mine is sprawled on a pumpkin hanging I am trying to make.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually low on greens but also looking for a black with pink floral that could be used in a border. Your new puppy seems to have made himself right at home despite his demotion.
ReplyDeleteLove to see the puppy enjoying his bed!
ReplyDeleteAnd Molly in the toucan picture looks a bit... umm... "fluffy"... (Please don't tell her I said that) But the family resemblance is... umm... (Don't tell her I said that, either)
I could use a couple of red prints for my grandson's Sand Castles quilt, if Molly isn't too mad at me.
Poo Buddy - demoted. Enjoy that heated bed sweetie. I would love juvenile prints for an Eye Spy that I am working on with the grandie.
ReplyDeleteSo much to comment on! Vanna Gray and White is a lovely presenter. Yes, I’d love to be entered to win scraps because there is no such thing as a local free table. Um, how do you get a cat to go INTO a new heated cat bed? Alfie is such a doofus. Tonight we even pre-heated it and put his favorite irresistible snack in the center (Vanicream lotion, I kid you not), but still no deal. I found a yard sale across the valley that mentioned fabric in the description, but I didn’t go because we worked in the yard today ripping out the vegetables. And then I napped. My bed wasn’t heated...
ReplyDeleteIf I could pick from your table, I’d choose some novelty prints for doors in my tiny houses, some greens for trees, and some florals because I need some beauty today. kthurn@bektel.com
ReplyDeleteOh those zipper blocks horizontally! I like them that way and why that never occurred to me...? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI have a new puppy........an actual puppy who has only been allowed to wander into the sewing room once. The sewing room is a total mess as we are getting some new flooring, so not much sewing is happening (more likely due to the new puppy, than the flooring). I so enjoyed the other box of scraps. I would take anything, but love reds, blues, greens, or browns for a scrap quilt I am starting. Please give Molly and Buddy some belly rubs from Missouri! bentley.christi@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI would love some purples. I'm making a quilt for my friend and that is her favorite color. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI'm always low on true greens, don't need olive or turquoise. Poor Buddy.
ReplyDeleteI need some batiks for Wanda's Colorwash 360 class. Even though I have lots of batiks, apparently most of them are not suitable being either too many colors or not enough pattern. Any color, any value, I need more of all of them. I wondered about Buddy's current persona when you said Molly was the only cat/kitten in residence.

Love your presenter! I would love to get picked for a fabric giveaway. I really like other people fabrics and I will let it be your choice.
ReplyDeleteI would love some reds and nuetrals. I am gathering scraps for Bonnie Hunter's Talking Turkey. Thank you! nikki_moshier at hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteOh, Molly is such a sweet ham in front of the camera! She deserves an extra belly rub for her hard work! Even though the RSC color hasn't been presented yet for October, my thoughts are that it will be yellow. So that is the color I need to finish my 9 patch quilt. Lots of yellow!
ReplyDeleteMay your day be filled with blessings!

Novelty and neutral scraps are always welcome here.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Molly could do a guest appearance on Wheel of Fortune :-) I really enjoyed the scraps I won last time. Should I win again, rainbow colors and landscape/nature or building materials fabrics (or anything you want to get rid of). You can pack Buddy in the box and send him to me too:-)
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed Molly's presentation. I would love to be entered in the giveaway. I would love any fabrics with fall colors and even some neutrals that play well together. Thank you for the opportunity to enter the giveaway. (shirparks@gmail.com)
ReplyDeleteVanna did a wonderful job. I would love some bright scraps or autumn scraps. So nice of you to share. dorthac at aol.com
ReplyDeleteI would love some blue scraps for a cat quilt that I am working on (PatchKat by Denise Russart). I am making all the cats in blues and need more variety for the ones with a quilt block on them. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteYour kitties are great presenters! I love scraps but I don't play with green too much. Elsewise any scrap will do.
ReplyDeleteBe well and stay safe.
xx, Carol
Pigs and more pigs. Starting to collect pig fabric to make a retirement quilt for a sister, who will retire from teaching in the next few years and loves/collects everything pigs.
ReplyDeleteI also like purples!

I would like to be counted in on your scrap giveaway bonanza! What quilter can’t use scraps? I am doing a green round the world quilt and an eye spy baby quilt so either novelty or greens would be most helpful. I love following your kitties. I miss not having a pet in our life. You are enriched and I benefit from your sharing of their unique personalities
ReplyDeleteOK, I got confused about the kitties/puppy but I'll figure it out. I'd love any tone-on-tone fabrics as I use them a lot. I noticed too that I'm low on yellow; this could be a problem this month!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely presenter. I would appreciate any dots, circles, 1800's reprints, kitties, 1930's reprints... Thank you so much.
