If you are participating in Bonnie Hunter's mystery challenge, you might be missing the free table right about now because you want to pick up some extra gray fabric.
And you know there is someone out there who has more gray fabric than they know what to do with.
Of course, this giveaway, like the others, is not limited to gray fabric. Maybe you need some neutrals or cat fabric or a particular color for the Rainbow Scrappy Challenge or some fabric that is so obnoxious that it wakes you up in the middle of the night purring and demanding you pay attention to her...oh wait, that was a cat named Molly. So maybe you want some fabric picked out by a naughty kitten who should spend more time picking out fabric for a give away than chewing on sewing thread off of the cone or waking me up at 3AM just because.
So yes, its that time of month when I ask you to leave a comment telling me what fabric you would like, and I will send you a small USPS box of fabric. Unfortunately, this excludes those who live outside of the U.S. due to the high costs of shipping. It also excludes no-reply comments if there is no way for me to contact you.
Molly will pick three names at random from the comments left on this post at 11:58pm December 1 (west coast time). I'll notify the winners and we will work out the specifics of what you are interested in and the size of the scraps and where I will send them.
I am certainly having fun with this giveaway and I appreciate everyone who is joining in!
Dear Sally, I am making Bonnie's Appalachian Autumn, but not using the background neutrals. I am using very light blue and a darker, but not real dark blue, for the background around the leaves (on my blog). I am having a hard time finding enough variety of blues. https://artinsearch.blogspot.com/2020/11/figuring-out-appalachian-autumn.html
ReplyDeleteI have the string leaves done, now the backgrounds. I could use some of those background blues. Thanks.
Oh gray and or beige-type neutrals would be super...
ReplyDeleteI don't do mysteries...but I am planning a low volume quilt next
hugs from afar, Julierose
I thought I needed grays, but the more I dug through the stash the more I found. Honestly, where did all these grays come from?!?
ReplyDeleteAnd then I thought I needed golds, but I've actually got a bunch left over from Allietare and En Provence.
That fabric that's so obnoxious that it wakes you up in the middle of the night sounds good -- oh wait, you said that was Molly...
Pink?
You have a lot of nice grays there, but I have a lot of those too. Hmm, you may think it strange - but uglies. I like a challenge, so uglies that you just need tongs to pick up cuz you don't want to even handle let along look at.
ReplyDeleteI don’t need grays but could really use something pretty bright prints. Thanks, this is always fun. dorthac at aoldotcom.
ReplyDeleteI would love some more greys, but not for the mystery because I bought yardage. Also any other neutrals, or lights. I could use some more orange too. Other bright colors/prints are always good!
ReplyDeleteDespite how much Molly may like the grays, I'm in need of low-volume prints, especially the ones with a very light background and small specks or patterns of color. I've got a few great ideas that will use these for the 2021 RSC. I'm looking forward to some serious winter sewing!

I would love some grays! I have lots of bright scraps I've been saving for a scrap quilt and the grays would make them pop. A few Molly hairs would blend right in too. They will contrast well with the orange hair in my scrap basket. Thanks for your generosity! pk_sews at yahoo dot com.
ReplyDeleteI could use prints in bright tropical colors or black backgrounds with brights bits or dots of color. I loved Sharon Vrooman's request.

Sally, you are so generous to share your beautiful fabric! I have four grays total. It's taken me a long time to see the use for it, but I get it now. Move over bright and crazy. There's a NKOTB!
ReplyDeleteJean
Well, right now I'm working with rose themed scraps and '30s scraps so anybody else's scraps of that variety would be nice to add to my own.
ReplyDeleteAnd I've said it before and I'll say it again...neutrals and novelties are always welcome. Oh, isn't gray a neutral?? Well, it's the background color for one of my RSC projects (Propellers) and I've been using a few scrap chunks I have in gray.
Wow, what a gorgeous stack of grey fabrics! Should I be the lucky winner I would enjoy grey scraps and/or bright colored scraps. Your generosity with these giveaways is so wonderful. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteLove these giveaways!! You are so generous! Grays, neutrals, navy blues and red would be my choices!! Thank you in advance for providing the excitement!
ReplyDeleteThe grays would be awesome. I'm working on Bonnie's mystery and have been also using lots of gray for backgrounds recently. I love reading your blog. I need to get back to mine as it's been awhile. christiscreativecorner.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing this! It's so fun to get packages right now!

I'm still on the prowl for novelty fabrics - pigs, frogs, words, pencils, scissors, cars, dogs, cats... anything that would be good for kids' quilts. Ugly novelties work too. Thanks for sharing your stash!
ReplyDeleteThe grays would be awesome as I am limited. I would like to send you something you are lacking. Quid pro quo? Blues? Patriotic?
ReplyDeleteI would really love a chance to win some fabric as I honestly have never won a contest before! I would love ANY fabric because my mom makes a lot of scrap quilts and I want to win this for her for christmas. thanks!
ReplyDeleteI would love some greens or blues. Call me crazy but my little pup loves frogs so I am going to make her a quilt with green frogs all jumping into blue water. nikki_moshier@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteGrays, greens, blues, or even some brighter yellows would be good. Not doing Bonnie's quilt this year but I could use those in some other projects for sure!
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about 3AM and animals??!!
I would love some low volume prints. There are so many scrappy quilt patterns that I would love to make but require more low volume fabrics....but would appreciate just about anything. What is it about getting a bunch of scraps that makes a quilter giddy?
ReplyDeleteChocolate Brown, True Yellow, Indingo, Violet, Black on black. I love rainbow colors. 24Tangent@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteHi Sally! Yes, I need grays! Although my list of UFOs is long, the allure of a mystery quilt is calling me again. My kitty Munchkin says hello to Molly; she is ignoring Buddy. Sandy at sewhigh.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteGrays are lovely - don't think I have much gray. I would love some gray, but if you have any purple or orange to throw in, I would love that too. So kind of you to share. Christmas wish for you: May the kitties let you sleep late whenever you desire.
ReplyDeleteNo greys for me, thank you, but I'm still collecting fabrics with roses, pink fabric, and browns. Thanks for offering. You're so very generous!
ReplyDeleteChewing thread.... My daughter's cats do that. We're afraid they get their little intestines all tied up! Hope Molly's are fine.
I'm making Bonnie's mystery but I had a serious shortage of greys so I subbed in blues. I could, however, use help in the neutrals category...or blues... dark blues in particular. My moose cat says to tell the pony hello! Bethastrand@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the opportunity to win fabric. You really know how to appeal to my deepest addiction! I am on the prowl for reds right now. Especially any red and white fabrics. I think you have the greatest sense of humor and your cat stories crack me up. :)
ReplyDeleteOh..yes soft grays will on my next quilt ..or even off white...please
ReplyDeletecary.wisnosky@gmail.com enjoy your blog thx

I am surprised, but I really don't have many grays. I love that stack of fabrics you showed up above. Even the one covered in fur:-) If I win, surprise me.
ReplyDeleteI love bright colors and novelties and make many things from them-If chosen as a winner I'd appreciate fabrics such as flamingos, pigs, cats, dogs, butterflies, dragonflies, hedgehogs or whatever you have available. I enjoy all the quilt blocks you make and show on your blog. Thanks for the inspiration! I will have many days this winter to try out some of your blocks. Thanks.

I don't need any grays, but am looking for fabric with birds - suddenly want to put birds in every quilt I make. Give Buddy a hug for me - I cheer for the underdog and worry that Buddy is neglected.
ReplyDeletecatherinejarettlaw@gmail.com
Gray is awesome and can never have to many because they carry so much color with them that you need an abundance of them to be able to match anything. I have solids, but would have so much fun with your prints!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your fun site and sharing your kitties!! Janetkolmer@gmail.com
