I think I lost the month of March to doom scrolling. A friend did order me to start blogging again...but that meant I had to start sewing again...so here are the bow-ties for March.
And yes, I did manage to sew the microspools into twosies. I then sorted them into type of pair: same color, matchy-matchy and contrast. There is absolutely no theory yet for moving forward sewing them into four patches...so there is a growing pile of, nope, not right, I don't think so, etc. that Molly can roll around in.
And here is Molly's interpretation of me after a month of relentless screen doom scrolling. For realism, you would have to take away all the cute and fur, of course.
I think many of your friends were planning to give you that order! We've missed you very much!
ReplyDeleteAnd Molly, of course. We've missed Molly, too. And also Buddy, but don't tell Molly I said that.
I am so glad to see your post!! Doom scrolling is toxic- does not help anyone. Maybe you could eat chocolate instead (kidding). Sewing is a great antidote for me. Creating something out of scraps and seeing it accumulate is soothing to me. Even if I just make sample blocks or randomly sew scraps.
ReplyDeleteWell, it is heartening to see that you (or was it Molly?) listened to my advice. I’ve missed your humor and the silly kitty pictures. I haven’t been doom scrolling like you, but March (despite being my birthday month and the start of spring) was just one appointment after another, with remodeling/construction chaos, family gatherings (fun but exhausting) and unexpected/unannounced company. And the garden is calling. Sewing, when I make time, has been my respite. Oh, and I love those bow ties! xo
ReplyDeleteAren't bossy friends just the best? I'm glad it's not just me that has at least one of them! I'm looking forward to seeing all those bow tie blocks lined up. Good to see you back...yes, you too, Sally!
ReplyDeleteHad to look up doomscrolling - definitely going to give that one a miss. So happy you're back, I love your blog and the beautiful cats, I'm glad all is well you've all been missed - my cats had attitude not humour - loved them anyway! Elaine UK
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are back. Everyday, looking. Oh well, you are back. Getting ready for a retreat and since I have 5 sets of blocks to make into flimsies that will be worked on, along with a bit of piecing, my favorite part.
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering where you were. Glad you're back.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you back.
ReplyDeleteI thought maybe Molly had locked you in a closet as punishment for some misbehavior on your part.

Those are lovely. My blogging so far this year has basically been limited to stash reports, but I *have* started again, and that's what counts, right?
ReplyDeleteI was glad to see you back. I enjoy your blog quite a lot and your fur patrol always makes me smile!
