Here are the butterflies I have made during the move. When I find the other butterfly blocks, I will show them all. October 1 sounds like a good time frame. Until then, these are my contribution to Cathy's Kaleidoscope of Blogs.
I am using the new flannel design wall although at this point its just leaning against the wall without support. As I laid out the blocks, Molly went wild. She tried climbing the wall from the back. Then she burrowed in the excess fabric while Buddy tried to attack her. Then she was so full of herself that she had to gallop around the house with Buddy in pursuit. Molly's mojo returns.
Here's Molly reflecting on the fabric giveaway. She decided that the first giveaway would be orange fabric because she has learned from Gayle at Mangofeet that Orange is the New Neutral. She also thought it might be helpful for participants in the Rainbow Scrappy Challenge because the new color for September is Neutral, I mean, Orange.
Here is the selection of oranges for today's fabric giveaway. Molly is offering a fat quarter of each fabric. Just leave a comment explaining why Molly is an outstanding winner of the pet on a quilt contest and next Friday she'll randomly select an outstanding winner, like her.
Seriously? Could there have been any other choice? I mean, just look at Molly. Perfection in felinity.
ReplyDelete(And also, ORANGE!! Squee!!)
Molly just looks like a queen on her quilt throne.
ReplyDeleteSweet Molly! I just stocked up on some orange - need to learn to use this 'new neutral'.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Molly is awaiting her staff member to attend to her needs - just what a winner should do!
ReplyDeleteMolly appears to be trying to take the opportunity to work on her tan before summer is gone. She is a little pale on that side of her neck...a cat's farmer's tan. Love all of those adorable butterfly blocks. Have a great weekend! Andrea
ReplyDeleteWho else could win in that CATegory but Molly? With her purrfect Looks and beubg a Quilt Inspector and Tester Extraordinaire, and furever tending to her staff, what could be better?
ReplyDeletePoor Molly, having to endure a move and trying bravely to adjust to new surroundings. I imagine she was hoping she would have new staff to serve her, but no, the staff has moved with her. Against all odds she shouldered through and achieved stardom as an outstanding pet on a quilt award.

Congratulations, Molly!!! You are a purrfect example of sophistication, qualification, beautification, and dedication with a heart to fabricate and a staccato voice to which all other cats should abdicate and to which none can copycat. kthurn(at)bektel(dot)com
ReplyDeleteAs a non-native Oregonian myself, I have to say it is likely because Molly is gracing Oregon with her inimitable combination of grace and sass. It's a huge responsibility, and one that has been recognized nationwide, for good reason.
ReplyDeleteWill Molly be signing the fabric with her cat fur? I have the frames ready to mount it.
ReplyDeleteI give Molly kudos for her dedication. If there's a photo to pose for, she's there without complaint. She's not one of those diva model types.
ReplyDeleteMolly is a very photogenic cat. She has such a regal persona that it is no wonder she was a winner. dorthac at aol.com
ReplyDeleteMolly deserved it for allowing herself to be shared with the world for their delight. Julia
ReplyDeleteWhile Molly is the winner, she is being gracious and acknowledging the sopport of her staff and the undying devotion of her brother, right? It just took the creation of the design wall to bring back the truly helpful Molly.

Molly Rocks! And her choice of color rocks too!
ReplyDeleteWhat's there to explain why Molly is an outstanding winner of the pet on a quilt contest? For starters, she is just too darn cute and she knows it.
ReplyDeleteCats rule, dogs--and ponies--druel.

Molly is everyone's cat as we follow her cat acts. How did those blocks manage to stay on the flannel with her climbing it?
ReplyDeletelove orange thanks Molly
ReplyDeleteI didn't used to be a fan of orange but now it is hitting my radar big-time. Thanks for the chance to win. And, good choice for a first batch Molly.
ReplyDeleteMolly knows she is queen of the hill, and it comes through, so, of course, people would vote for her. And that pawtrait was amazing.
Don't know how Molly won outstanding pet contest. I didn't think Molly was a pet. Learn something new every day. Congrats, Molly!
ReplyDeleteI really like to try my hand at making carrot shaped table runners...or maybe pumpkins
ReplyDeletelots of ideas...I will put to good use.
Molly has cattitude for both she, Buddy and a few other cats. And with that expressive face and those eyes, no other cat had a chance at the winner's title. Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteMolly was a shoot in! She knows exactly where to pose to make the quilt sparkle.
ReplyDeleteWe, of course, are big Molly fans. Alfie pines from afar and Darla wants to be her BFFF (Best Feline Furriend Forever). Cathy L has a point - Molly is not a pet, but a Supervisor. But it doesn't have the same ring, I guess.
ReplyDeleteIt's her adoring attentive look that we sometimes get from our feline companions. It's moments like this that we truly know we are loved by our attention demanding feline friends.
ReplyDeleteBTW, orange has always been in my stack of 'neutrals'.

Great orange fabrics, love the one with black triangles on it. 24Tangent@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Molly! I love your portrait -- your eyes are wonderful! And orange is so fun! We have a stray, orange kitty in our yard and I dreamed last night I inherited an orange tabby. Congrats again, and enjoy basking in the sun and the fame.
ReplyDeleteMolly had to be the winner because she got the most votes, right? Simple logic! She has the perfect smug expression to carry it off, too.
ReplyDeleteShe is such a classy, elegant cat. Quite hard to beat that.
ReplyDeleteBecause she already lived many times and is the reincarnation of an Egyptian Pharaoh Queen.
ReplyDeletecause she's just too darn cute!
