Plaid standing bunnies

I kicked the kittens out of the sewing room so I could finally layout the plaid standing bunnies and assess my progress. The bunnies need much more breathing room than they have here, so I think I'll just make a few more and then figure out the layout.

After being let back into the sewing room, Molly was quick to provide her input. To see more scrappy wonders and provide your own input, visit Scraptastic Tuesday for March.

Dear Jane H3

Here's the Dear Jane block H3 or Berry's Baskets. It's a strange construction...and I followed the seam construction in the quilt. Which made me think that maybe this was a larger block at one time and it was cut down for the quilt. In any case, it's all part of the adventure.

Dear Jane L7, J7, seahorses, and log cabin

With kittens running wild in the sewing room, I guess we can all expect a bit of mayhem.  In this case, the pieced seahorses from yesterday must have gotten mixed up with the Dear Jane blocks to produce this Dear Jane Alternate Universe block.

However, Dear Jane blocks L7 or Town Square and J7 or Chicken Tracks were made intentionally following along with the random block drawings on Fabadashery. However, because these blocks use such small bits of foreground print, I used small hunks I had gotten in a Kaffe scrap bag.

I also made this log cabin block using leftover bits from the Dear Jane blocks. I don't typically keep one inch strips, but they are a common scrap from Dear Jane.  I figure I can stick this with the Alternative Universe blocks. For more scrappy wonders, don't forget to visit Oh Scrap!

And here are all four blocks laid out on my design wall until Molly comes to clear them off.

Purple seahorses

Here are some purple seahorses to start off the month of March for the Rainbow Scrappy Challenge.

And here is Typhoon who is a bit sad to say good-bye to brown but is looking forward to months of buff, gray and white.

Kittens and bunnies

I missed yesterday's post because I had to spend quality time with neglected family members.

But today I made some progress on the plaid bunny parade. I changed out the ear, tail, and arm of the purple bunny. Then I added three more...the two green ones on the bottom row and the purple and blue one on the top row. Next, I set out to lay out all the bunnies I've made so far to review the inventory.
Molly had other plans.

Then she gave a lecture on design that I'm sure was fascinating if I had bothered to listen.

I should also mention that we had a light snowfall which I expect will be our last for the year.

It was very well behaved and primarily stuck to tree limbs and grass.

And speaking of well behaved...here is what Typhoon, the kitten with the criminal record, is up to...he's learning posing with advanced paw work...that is, tucked paw posing. He found Molly's lecture mesmerizing.

Four more plaid bunnies

Here are today's plaid bunnies. I like the purple fabric for the bunny in the lower right corner, but I'm wondering if the light fabric for the ear, arm and tail works. It may work better in the final quilt, so I'm going to leave it as it is for now. Besides, Molly is suffering from a very bad case of the naughties today, so vigilance is my word for the day. If this keeps up, kitty cuffs and muzzle will be my words for tomorrow.

Plaid bunnies and kitten participation

Here are the latest plaid bunnies up on the design wall.

Here are the plaid bunnies on the floor. And spoiler alert, the next compilation of photos is called "Get a Room."

You were warned.
