Purple lion

January has arrived like a lion. A purple lion. The Rainbow Scrappy Challenge has begun again so let the fun begin. You can find out about other clever purple projects over at Angela's blog SoScrappy.

Last year I fizzled out a bit with RSC16. But a nice feature of this challenge is that you can fill in missing pieces over the new year.  The Rainbow Fish are from my first year participating in this challenge.

This origami crane quilt was also made during the first year I participated.

And unfortunately, that was also the year that another participant made rainbow cats and through some strange warp in the quilt field, kittens from her cats showed up in my sewing room. I had to contain them in a quilt just to keep them from wrecking the place.

OMG you are hilarious!
Love the new block...wow!
If more of those guys show up, you will be in big trouble!
Lions are more destructive than little kittens!
Love that rainbow border on the cat quilt too!

I remember your dancing lions (and all the havoc between them and the owls), but I don`t think I ever saw your lion block. So cute! I mean FEROCIOUS. BTW, the dancing lions are not performing in D.C., are they?

The rainbow fish are so cute! Of course, so are the kitties. Meanwhile, the swans show us your elegant side. :-)

Rahr! Rurr! Rowr! (Sorry, just telling the lion how glamorous he is.) Rrrrr!
Hopefully he won't munch on the fish and the kittens...

The lion is so stinking cute! Is that from a pattern or did you just improv him?

I'm awed by your ability to turn any creature into a few pieces of fabric!

Your animals are amazing! You have the talent to render them proportionally in quilt blocks and they look amazing in rainbow colors! Thank you for the piggy pattern which I have to thank (or is it blame) Gayle for introducing them to them ;-)

Love your rainbow kittens particularly. The border looked like a scallop from a distance, but then I could see cats ears as well :)
