I got power back late Friday afternoon, a week after the Mid-Atlantic derecho. Thankfully, this was before temperatures soared above 100 degrees. We have since transitioned to more seasonal temperatures. However, the transition was not without casualties. The winds from last night's storm took down this oak. This is not from the derecho.
This maple also came down last night. And, of course, power went out too, but only for a few hours. These trees sit across from each other on either side of the driveway.
This is from the derecho. This is behind the house. It used to be all trees, but now you can see the sky.

It's such a treat to live in the woods that I suppose you have t0 occasionally experience the down side!
