QOV presentation case
It may look like a pillowcase, but its really the presentation case for the Quilt of Valor quilt I finished recently. I guess all of Mr. Bear's industry has worn off on me and I'm trying to finish up some of my own ongoing projects. The finished QOV quilt was washed successfully at a laudromat and now I am ready to mail it off tomorrow when I'm in town. But more to the point, the lovely dyeing in both the body and band of the pillowcase are by Vicki W., and goes perfectly with the backing, also dyed by Vicki W.

Peach tree RIP
Mr. Bear again as your guest blogger with some final productivity tips. First, if you have trouble finishing a job because you are constantly interrupted, pick a time when you can have a lot of time to yourself. And when you've completed your project, don't forget to go the extra mile. For example, in this case, as I was picking peaches I decided to also do some much needed tree pruning.

Finishing projects
Good morning! Today, I (Mr. Bear) am going to teach you how to finish that project that you keep putting off. From my first photo, you might think that I'm going to show you how to use a lawn mower. But no, today we are going to finally finish off the remaining peaches on the peach tree.
First, choose a quick and simple method for project completion. Here, instead of climbing into the tree, I merely hold down the main limb and pick the peaches. I then chew the peach and spit the pit out of the side of my mouth. Work quickly! You don't know how long you will have before you are rudely interrupted!

Cicada screen print fail
Cicada wreath screen print on a t-shirt. What a mess! Can you find the three problems? Okay, the registration problem for the red ink layer is obvious around the eyes. But taking so long trying to get things aligned, clogged parts of the screen so details on the wings didn't come through. And of course it all started out with the black marks coming through at the edge of the screen. To be revisited...

Mary Ellen Hopkins
I just found out that Mary Ellen Hopkins passed away on July 9th. Here she is standing in front of a quilt that Cassandra Tondro made back when we "worked" at Crazy Ladies and Friends. I think this goes back to three days after rotary cutters were invented.

Quilt of Valor 2013
Here is my Quilt of Valor for January. I obviously have a new found fascination with trees that stand upright.
Here is the back with label.
And here is a closeup of the handywork of Vicki W (and yes, you can order a custom quilt back from her too!).

Tommy
I (Tommy) am your guest blogger until the binding on a quilt is completed. Good thing I have access to a vast library of my pictures. You're welcome! Tommy

lizards
For unknown reasons, we have had quite a few lizard visitors in the house. Tommy likes to demonstrate how the tail comes off.

Raccoon quilt
Raccoon quilt. Okay, this is a bit of a cheat. This is revisiting an 8.5X11 quilt I made back in 2011.
