Buddy's Scrap Management and Giveaway

Buddy understands how easily one can feel overwhelmed by scraps. And he understands that a lot of quilters try to organize them or use them up or engage in other "molly-coddling" activities.

Buddy's management system lets the scrap know who is boss. Grab the scrap(s) with your front paws and then kick, kick, KICK with your back paws. After effective management, the scraps will know who is boss and you can stroll through your sewing room feeling all of the respect that you have earned. (This does not apply to sisters.)

And now that you feel all of that respect, I am certain that you want more scraps. If you want more respect, please leave a comment letting me know what type of respect you would like...that is, do you want a certain color of scrap, novelty prints, modern or traditional. Three winners will be picked randomly on New Year's Eve.  Unfortunately, this fabric giveaway excludes those outside of the U.S. and no-reply commenters.

Molly also notes that you may receive unmanaged scraps and she accepts no liability from anyone taking advice from Buddy.

I’m not entering, but I do love the pictures of Buddy “managing” the scraps.

To honor the existential dread embodied in your comment, I have recorded it as a request for "Low Volume" scraps.

Respectfully,

Molly Kitten

I would love some scraps! Blues or 30's for me! Looks like Buddy is doing a great job managing your scraps!

Although I do get a kick out of scraps I don't get the same kind of kick out of scraps as Buddy.
Neutrals and Tone on Tone scraps are always in short supply here.

Molly is quite the scrap cat. I love playing with other people's scraps and love to be surprised, so I would let you pick what kind if I would be lucky enough to win.
Happy New Year!

If Buddy could manage a nice pile of modern pieces, I'm in. I know he loves color as much as I do, so his choosing (and kicking about) is good enough for me! If a low volume scrap or 10 gets mixed in, even better. Happy Holidays to you and your family, Buddy!

I could use blue or green in a current project but would be happy to have Buddy choose for me! My Gizmo tries to make fabric choices every time I open the strip drawer. So far, I haven't been able to get him to decide on a pattern, he just keeps choosing fabric.... sounds a bit like me sometimes! Happy New Year!

I'd wondered where my two young hooligans had been getting their training in scrap management - I should have suspected that Buddy was involved somehow. My stash has been thoroughly 'managed' into a stage best described as 'a shambles'...
If Buddy were to toss a light neutral or two my way, I'd regard it as a kindness. Or a cat print, if he has sufficiently subdued it.

Great cat pictures, wonderful helper. I like rainbow colors, blenders and chocolate brown. 24Tangent@gmail.com

Too bad I can’t manage scraps like Buddy or even Molly for that matter. Would love some bright colors. dorthac at aol.com. since blogger is not my friend here.

Most of my scrap bins are overflowing except my low volume bin...so of course I have plans for a new block that needs them. Maybe Buddy can kick some my way if you have extras.

My cat, Tugger, will approach scraps, burrow his head down and just furiously dig through scraps, throwing them behind him. Kind of disrespectful when I have just sorted them, but that is his MO.

If Buddy feels so inclined to kick some scraps my way, neutrals, grays, of fall colors are always pleasing to Cici, the guardian of all fabric in my sewing room. Thanks for doing this! Christi Bentley

How lucky you are to have Buddy's "help" with wrangling scraps. If he finds any low volume/light neutral scraps to pass along, I would certainly respect his choice. I'm also a little low on orange and purple.

I miss scraps! Prior to March I had a number of places where I could buy them, but alas, no longer! Would love some novelties, or any color or pattern.

I think Buddy is just gorgeous, and I am not saying that hoping he chooses to kick some scraps my way. pacurrier@gmail.com

I could sure use some novelties or anything bright, thanks for the offer.

A lot of us throw scraps around just like Buddy and then kick them to the side when they get in the way! Thanks for the giveaway, Sally! I could use any color and novelty or modern scraps would be fun.

Looks like low volume neutrals are in high demand these days. I could use some more of them as well as some novelties in bright colors. I feel some scrappy HSTs coming on. I don't have any excellent scrap sorters at my place. Maybe I'll just have to dump out a box and stir them up.

I wish I could blame my scrap disarray on the cat. I love bright colors!

I would love any scraps if I would be one of your winners. And Buddy is such a beautiful cat! I have had my cat Ralphie to the vet twice in the last 2 weeks with a UTI. He's been taking antibiotics and they gave him a shot. I'm afraid he's going to have to go again. Now I almost wish I hadn't had him neutered! Happy New Year to everyone!

Sounds like Buddy has an exercise routine--Grab scrap, kick, kick kick. If he sends me some scraps I will give it a try. Might help me lose this Covid weight:-)

I miss having a kitty in my life. I wish Buddy could come over my house and teach me his creative approach to managing scraps. I would love whatever Buddy picked out for me.

I love all scraps and would be happy with any selection. A bit of cat hair only improves the quality of the fabric. 😊

I'd love something with small prints that would be fun in house windows or doors on a quilt. Faces, bunnies, etc, house plants, something unexpected!
