This is a good time of year to pull out the RSC blocks and figure out what's missing and potential layout ideas. I don't plan the quilt to start out, but instead wait until the end of the year to figure out the layout. In the case of the cows, I don't have enough to figure out the layout. I can see, however, that the complementary colors are going to make this quilt lively. (And yes, the sheep is only a helpful stand-in.) You can find the tutorial for the cow pattern in the Tutorial section.
And here are sheep laid out. It looks like the piano key feet are going to be an important design element. At a minimum, I need to add some yellow or gold sheep. And amble over to Angela's Rainbow Scrappy Challenge to see more works in progress.
And here's Buddy guarding the booty at the base of the design wall. Buddy has learned how to pull at the base of the wall and send the quilt blocks flying. He learned that trick from Molly.

HA - they do look like piano keys!! Buddy was taught by the master.
How now, BROWN sheep? LOL!! It's good to see your scrappy progress.
Dogs are good at picking up new tricks, especially with repeated demonstrations!
Love the sheep and the cows. I am going to go look at how you have made them. I have worked on so Farm Girl Vintage and a few animals would be so cute with some of the other blocks. Do you have any Horses?
Those cows and sheep have lots of personality, that's for sure! It's always fun to see what (or who?) you will add next!
I do like those complementary cows a lot. Here in Iowa we just have plain brown cows that face left but they do live in greener pastures.
Your cows, sheep and kitty cat are super cute.
Your cows, sheep and kitty cat are super cute.
Molly is such a good teacher...
I love your sheep so much! You've really captured that skittish I'm-about-to-rocket-off-right-this-second thing that is the very essence of sheep.
I love your jolly sheep and cows! What great quilts they will be.
It was great the the cow stood in for the sheep after the sheep stood in for the cows. Such great cooperation between the species! Glad you’re counting sheep and a-cow-nting the bovines. And Buddy knocking down blocks.... your quilting life is complete!
I was singing, "One of these things is not like the others. One of these things just doesn't belong," when I saw your block pictures... Fun stuff here.
You could make a design ceiling. How long would it take Molly to pull that down? She could start Buddy in high jump training. Good luck sorting out the animals.
The blocks are beautiful and Buddy has quite a collection there.
You have got a great start to a farm yard there. Very cute.
Looks like these are moooooving along. You must be a baaaaaaadass quilter!
Cute!
I'm sure Buddy's help is not especially welcomed. Love the sheep.
Such fun blocks! Both sets are going to make very cute and colorful quilts.
