Bits and pieces

During a moment of peace and quiet, I quickly layered the eagle. For the backing and binding, I'm using some star fabric that I used in the eagle's wing.

And I have the top three rows of chickens assembled.

Along the way, I am making spools. A lot of these spools are made from chicken feathers, that is, from the same fabric as chicken wings and bodies.

To see more piece-making progress, visit Sew Stitch Snap SHARE at kokaquilts.

And here is an illustration of the phrase "thick as thieves."

Oh nice eagle!! Always enjoy seeing your chooks and good that you're making use of the fabrics left over to sew spools. Love the photo of Molly and Buddy, priceless!!

Such pretty projects at your place - love all the bright, cheery fabrics, and of course the blocks are too darn cute! They are in stiff competition with the Molly and Buddy!

I've heard that girls love their ponies...

I love the progress you're making on your chickens and particularly the way they change direction like that. Truly scrappy, making more scrap blocks from your scrap blocks! Very cute and comfortable looking kitty-cats.

You know, if you glued them together like that more often, you'd get a lot more sewing done...

I smile everytime I see your chicken quilt. Love those spools too - how big are those blocks? Thanks for linking to Sew, Stitch, Snap, SHARE.
