Center Medallion

Here's the center medallion for the Garden Mosaic/Dementor/Bat Wing Quilt. I made four panels and put the single layer of sashing through the middle to have the diamond come out. And now I can take it off the design wall. Poor Molly has been going nuts with both the I-spy and this quilt laid out. She does like to keep her design wall clear.

Did you bust a lot of scraps with this quilt top? It’s pretty amazing.

The print out of this pattern is still staring me in the face, as it rests on the cutting/planning table. Love your version, and I am sure that Molly is just beside herself that it is finally "gone".

Such a neat pattern, and it's fabulous all scrappy like this.

I've got some catching up to do! Are you going to make 16 blocks?

The center medallion that I am showing here is 45 inches square. It is based on a 1.5 inch grid...that is, the unfinished squares are 2 inches. I will probably only expand my quilt out to 86 inches square. Also, just a reminder...the Free Spirit pattern recommends half-square triangles and squares which requires a lot of precision. I opted for strip piecing and bat wings.

Holy cats, you're so far along! I've been diligently sewing HSTs - looks like your method is waaaaaaay more efficient! Maybe I should make two demented quilts - though by the time I finished, I might be overqualified...

This looks like a great stash busting quilt. So much to see and admire!
