Last month I had a scrap give-away because I was missing the free table at my local quilt guilds. There is a lot to miss...free scraps, dropping off free scraps, rummaging through "strange" fabric and talking trash (I mean, having thoughtful, insightful discussions of what people are looking for). For example, I would never have taken Alicia as a fan of minions. And I thoroughly enjoyed wallowing in my stash looking for pigs, so I definitely wanted to run another one.
If you are a refined member of the Rainbow Scrappy Challenge, you might be wondering if you have enough dark blue to get you through the month. Or maybe you don't have enough lights, or darks, or novelty prints. Your task is to leave a comment below specifying what kind of scraps you're looking for. Molly will pick one or two random numbers and then I'll fulfill the order. Unfortunately, given the cost of international shipping, this give away only applies to those in the U.S.
I will collect comments through Saturday July 4, midnight PST and announce the winner on July 5.
And a discussion of postage immediately brings to mind pandemics and the PSP20 (Postage Stamp Pandemic of 2020). You might also be wondering when Zippers are going to spread enough to be called a pandemic. Scientists are already at work studying the Cake Stand. And I'm sure you know that there is a lot of finger pointing in the direction of Lynn Dykstra and Klein Mesije Quilts, but the truly scary part is that all of these quilt viruses are stemming from one idea: making a ships quilt using prints and solids. And to help with the contagion, Lynn has a label "solids on prints series" so you catch multiple quilt viruses at once (note to self...you forgot about ladders...).
And here's a Blue Jay to remind you to leave a comment below...in case you came back and didn't wander off into the land of contagion. After all, you now might be in need of some solids...

I won scraps last month, so am commenting only to tell you I love your postage stamp blocks. I’m hanging on with all my might to avoid catching another Quilty pandemic. I’m still suffering *cough* with the Zippervirus.

Blue! I have a plan for blues! Also, my moose cat, Milo, would like to know how big the postage stamp blocks are? He's thinking he wants me to make him one but he's a 20-plus pounder and needs a generous quilt! Thanks for always bringing me a smile.
I am making a rainbow scrap challenge quilt with cat blocks this year. My Union is overseeing the project with great interest. In each month's blocks I've been including at least 1 polka dot, 1 fish and at least 1 wavy or curly or line fabric because that makes it more realistic, according to my Union. The other fabrics are fun fabrics-- Elvis (who was a cool cat), trees (because sometimes we have to face our fears), cat mermaids (definitely not catfish) and other fan-cat-stic fabrics. If I won, Molly and Buddy can rest assured the fabrics would become cats.
My wish is for anything right and happy as well as some fun neutrals. Molly must be wearing herself out making all these decisions. Glad Buddy is happy to just sit back and observe.

I have done 2 quilty pandemic quilts, so search for scraps continue with thrift stores and yard sales now that quilds are not meeting.
what a nice idea! Blues sound good to me! I am not one for wild modern fabrics, but what I need now are more tone-on-tones. I am new to RSC this year and have only one project going, but the darker blues I'm a little short on. I just love your bluejay and enjoy your bird projects immensely!

All your postage stamp blocks together are magnificent! I thought I needed stripes, but after you sent me off to get even MORE inspiration at Klein Meisje (which was downright cruel of you because I'm already up to my clavicles in new starts) it's starting to look like I might need more solids.
Not that I'm going to start another quilt. Nope. Not me.
Any kind of pale or pastel neutrals would be delicious, like a big slice of banana cream pie on a warm summer morning!
I like the lego blue jay! I'm partial to purple. Or soft oranges. I'm quite the scrapaholic.

I've caught PSP20, thank you very much, but don't have many solids so I know I won't be caught up in any other pandemics. Your PSP20 has progressed but when will you see the end of it?
I would browse the free table for neutrals because I am very low on those for backgrounds as well as solids or bright TOTs.

Love the blue jay! I decided to work on my 30's hexie quilt for the rainbow scrap challenge, so would love some fun happy blue 30's prints! I, too, am missing the scrap table at guild meetings--somehow other's scraps are always more fun than mine! Thanks for sharing!
I have made 2 postage stamp quilts in the last month, 1 random, anything goes 16 patch blocks, the other blocks by roy g biv color. Barely eeked out an orange and a yellow block. Must have more yellow and orange, also will never turn a away a good purple, my favorite of all the colors.
My quilty mind is swirling with all the possibilities! Does it count that I made a cakestand block way back in May? It's those postage stamp blocks that really have me worried right now. I might not be able to avoid catching that one! I would definitely love to win some of your scraps - perhaps in the novelty fabric category?!
