Adjustments

Here are four zipper blocks made from some of the latest fabric from the Kaffe Collective. Wanda at Exuberant Color was showing hers off and she had no warning on her blog. Also, it seems that a pandemic, power outage and fire does not stop new fabric from seeping into my stash.

And speaking of seeping, this was my view from my front yard on Saturday. The new fabric was safely inside already. Happily, it has gotten colder and in the morning the ground is wet with dew. My usual air conditioning is an open window, so I am quite happy for the cool down.

And remembering how happy Molly was nestled in her heated bed...I turned it on hoping to lure her away from her addiction to open windows and back to her heated bed addiction.

But yes, sometimes the world is just turned upside down...

and it is always the kittens (and their staff) that suffer.

Your smokey front yard looks like mine in Renton WA We are praying/hoping for rain, as I am sure you are too. Who knew the PNW would ever ask for rain? Love those innocent blue and green eyes

I hope you get rains soon; cooler temps are so welcome.
Your zipper blocks are really pretty with those swirly fabrics...
Stay safe hugs, Julierose

Poor Molly - so visibly suffering. Poor poor Molly.

I've been praying for days that the fires will be rained out. It's overwhelming to know how many families have lost everything. We have seen the haze in the sky here in NE Iowa during the evenings. The colors are an unusual scene and a cruel reminder of what climate change has done. Good to know you are safe...and the kitties.

I'm trying to keep our windows mostly closed. The hazy air here is affecting everyone's sinuses. I worry for the kids. We'll be getting room purifiers soon. Stay healthy.
xx, Carol

instead of having windows open we have been running the A/C or vent fan continuously. Will be glad when that noise is no longer going on overhead, and I can hear the crickets, and froggies, and birds through open windows.

Wow, you’ve still got it bad with smoke. Glad it’s cooled down somewhat. A second heated cat bed might get both of your supervisors to sleep simultaneously, allowing you more time to sew. Those Kaffe zippers are beautiful. Between you and Wanda, my fabric buying defenses are crumbling.

Sally you blocks are so vibrant but the view of the smoke is terrible, we see coverage every night on TV here in New Zealand and it's horrific! Hope you stay safe.
