The power is out...too much hot wind blew through yesterday. Buddy asked to pick the winners of the giveaway and he picked his YEOW catnip banana. So I picked and the winners are Julierose, Joy, and Susan. I will get in touch with each of you by email after I get power back, but have already started to round up some fabric...a non-electrified activity. Oh...and we were supposed to get power back at about 11 pm last night, but the estimate for getting power back was revised to “invalid date.”
(And I realize others are going or have just gone through much, much worse. And frankly, I almost giggle each time I realize I can still have water without electricity. And that’s been about ten times now.)

No fires here, just strong winds and rain yesterday that took out our power for half of the day. Eight overnight guests camped out and no water without power! No damage in the yard beyond some small branches but a large tree crashed down up in the wooded area. So much for another holiday in this year of oddities and oxymorons.
Power outages and fires abound in my part of the country (Washington state), but I am one of the fortunate few who have water without electricity. My water is spring gravity fed. Blessed to have water; blessed to not be evacuated!

Stay safe without power! Salt Lake City where Cousin Kim lives is without power too because of some extreme winds. She’s worried about her freezerful of food. We have power here in Murray, but it dropped from the nineties yesterday to the fifties today (and much cooler tonight). We had to turn on the furnace. Um... I didn’t realize some people can’t get water without power. I’ve never lived in a place where that was the case. Did you see the tummy xrays of the KA new momcat, Tilbury? Five, maybe six kittens, coming soon to a YouTube live feed near you...
Hope your power is back on by now. It would be awful to not have water as well as no power. I also have a natural gas kitchen range, so I can cook by lighting the burners with a match. So many people in the US are suffering from too many disasters.

Hope your power gets back on soon. It usually doesn't bother me if it is less than 6 hours, but the last few times, it has been anywhere from 1 to 3 days.
I don't think I know where you live. Sounds like California. We worried we would have wind and they would cut us off but luckily we didn't get wind. I'm pretty sure we will be buying a whole house generator at some point in the future. Our electric was out for a day and we are lucky to have a creek to get water to flush. But I still can't think too much about how lucky we are when the state is on fire and so many have lost everything.
