Here is a baby quilt (32 inches square) that I put together out of bits from a Bonnie Hunter mystery challenge that I never finished. Under no other circumstances would HSTs (half-square triangles) exist in my sewing room.
Meanwhile, Molly is insisting that I make a correction to the last blog post. She says that although I did not outright lie, she considers the blog post misleading. Molly notes that more plants have died from my neglect than from extreme weather. Molly apologizes that she cannot provide an exact number of plants that I have killed, but for purposes of this discussion she suggests we round the very large number to infinity.

Well that is one darn cute baby quilt even if it does have a "few" hst's. And that's one reason why I avoid Bonnie mysteries. That plus an aversion to being told what to do and how to do it. We're a lot like cats that way.
That's quite a tropical/Caribbean vibe to that quilt! I'd stick a little paper umbrella in the baby's bottle, but that's just me...
Great job, fake flowers and plants can give you the look without the upkeep. Just dust or wash in the sink now and then.
I've kind of had a thing for green and blue lately...maybe because those are the colors with our professional sports teams here? But I think the color combo is fabulous for this quilt top. And regardless of how many plants may have met their demise under your watch, we've probably got you beat. It's all "fake" plants indoors for us now. Thanks for sharing your fabulous quilt top. Wonderfully sharp and cheerful quilt. I don't mind HSTs, it's paper piecing that drives me mad. And EPP. Anything I can chain piece through my machine is great with me. I find that Bonnie's mysteries are too busy visually for me. The last one I made was Grand Illusions and I thought food processor blades were attacking. I gave it to someone else to finish and donate. I do love her tips and techniques. Tugger the cat is staring at me because I had to take him to the vet for bloodwork, shots and hydration. He is still glaring about it. I am sure he would say some choice things about my abilities.

HSTs are Ok for me, just not QSTs or teeny tiny pieces. I love your little quilt - the colors are so bright and clear. It’s gorgeous! I really don’t think Molly knows how many plants you’ve had a paw in helping to the Great Greenhouse in the Sky. She was too busy chasing a critter, as I recall.
So nice to get such a lovely bonus quilt.
Better to put those HSTs to use in a baby quilt (which is bright and cheery, BTW) then to leave them languishing in a box somewhere. I have partial blocks and pieces from Frolic which I know I will never get back to, but I'm not sure they could be turned into anything useful at this point. It would however, be nice to put away the fabric pull, if it would ever cool off enough for me to work in the studio long enough.

I;m good at killing seeds, that do not sprout, or wither in the sprouting pot. TOO MUCH trouble! I do not like fussy needy plants. I like cats, they are independent. Dogs are needy. Well, my cat is needy, too, but she is just SSSO cute! Good use of those nasty HST's. I find her mysteries too fussy with too many pieces. I want to quote Thorough(sp): SIMPLIFY, SIMPLIFY, SIMPLIFY.
