Snow Hummingbird

Meet Mr. Snow Hummingbird. I was very surprised by his visit this morning.

I did see snow in the forecast, but where I live it rarely sticks...you usually have to live up on a hill in Portland, Wisconsin to get any measurable snow. Okay...this isn't really measurable. But certainly its worth rushing to Costco and buying out all the white bread and milk (and yes, all the white paper products and soap are long gone...).

And Portland, Oregon is not in low supply of slackers. This one is willfully violating all of the social distancing protocols. Just to "stick it to the man," my cats spent a long time this morning licking each other's faces.

Snow hummingbirds are rare! How lucky you are to have spotted one!

That snow hummingbird almost looks like it is made of sticks laying on top of the snow, but closer inspection tells me otherwise. But perhaps there is a stick hummingbird out there under that layer of snow that will show itself when the snow melts? As for the cats...well, we've known all along they do what they want!

I was surprised to see a picture on Facebook of the foothills of Portland, Wisconsin, I think the town is called Newberg. And yes, snow. It doesn’t make this camper happy, so it better clear out before we get there.
