February Fabric Giveaway

Please forgive my recent absence. I was kidnapped by a British spy novel series and now have a slight lull in the action. And yes, I am also machine quilting the seahorses...slowly...which limits what I have to show.

This month Buddy will run the fabric giveaway. Like past giveaways, if you are interested in having a change to win, leave a comment specifying what color/theme of quilting fabric strikes your fancy. You can also ask for a rainbow assortment of colors that match Buddy (taupe, brown, gray and rotund). Unfortunately, given the cost of postage, the giveaway is limited to within the U.S.

On Feb. 4, at 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time, I will plead with Molly to use her super secret random number algorithm to pick the winner. I will notify the winner by email the next day. If you are anonymous or no reply, please leave an email in the comment so I can reach you if you win. If you win, I will email you for your address and get more clarification about your fabric selection preferences.

Meanwhile, here in Portland we had a day with a spectacular sunrise. A little more inspiring than midrange tones of gray. However, in the most recent Quiltmania, there was a tumbler block quilt that  fit the bill for a Portland sky quilt. You can see it here: https://patchworktotquilts.blog/2024/01/12/stumbling-tumblers-continued/

Awesome sunrise! My fabric choice would be yellow/gold or red. Thank you for the opportunity to enter the giveaway!

If Molly spins my number, I'd love red, white and blue. . .patriotic colors. . .Thank you Buddy for running the contest. I'm glad for a beautiful sunrise and some sunshine during the day. It helps to have a few days that are bright instead of the grey rainy ones that feel like they run together with no end in sight!

Was it Mick Herron's Slow Horses series? If it wasn't, prepare to be kidnapped by another British spy novel series. (I love the TV series, and the books are even better!)

I would love theme fabrics. Batiks run a very close second!

Neutrals are my choice to help with my scraps in the quilts. I finished some quilts, and am allowing myself to start a new scrappy one. I don't think you have the market on grays. Because I am close to Lake Erie, a lot of cloudy, solid gray days. And drizzle. Can't wait until Saturday when the sun is rumored to break through.

Beautiful sunrise photo! The colors in the sky are often so fleeting that I always appreciate seeing them at just the right moment. And capturing a photo is even better.
You are so generous to offer these giveaways! Right now, I am particularly interested in sage greens. I think they are somewhat hard to find. I have been making lots of baby quilts and it seems all the young mothers want sage green as part of their color scheme. So if I should win I would request sage greens (if you have any) and other soft colors and neutrals for baby quilts.

Our sunrise sky yesterday was a beautiful bunch of pinks and sunset sky was a beautiful bunch of oranges and yellows. Clear sky last night and when I got up to get a drink in middle of night there was a sky full of stars and a beautiful big yellow half moon.

And speaking of sky...I'm working with what I call a boho color scheme and making 6 inch Dandy Stars...browns,grays,sky blue, electric orange and saturated purple. So that's basically the Buddy color scheme except if I win please substitute blue, orange and purple for the rotund.

I would love some blues and neutrals. We've had lots of gray skies here in New England--I'm ready for some sunshine! Beautiful sunrise!

I chuckled about your kidnapping and read it to my husband. Funny!!

I would like anything. I am on a no-buy so I am a bit tired of my stuff, lol.

Thank you!

That is a lovely sunrise. I can never seem to capture mine in time. I, too, am trying not to buy more fabric and use what I have as everything is so much more expensive now. I have been trying to collect a few pink/purples because I love that color range, but I could use some background low volumes too. Thanks for doing the giveaways. And I love Buddy!

I need to win this so I can learn what "rotund" fabrics are! Maybe dots? Swirly designs?

Nice picture - hope you are enjoying good weather. It is hard to choose a color but I like browns - they are great for small quilts. Thanks for your chance to win some fabric. cmberry@lsu.edu
