Fabric Giveaway Time!

Here is the state of my design wall. I've laid out the Gridlock blocks in the chaos format. And yes, that is part of the seahorse quilt border waiting for me to make a few more diamonds. So let's talk about this month's fabric giveaway instead.

To start, this month there will be one winner so we can avoid the sending the fabric bundles to the wrong person. The Fat Quarter Shop has a scrap bag with cuts of 4 to 7 inches that run the width of the fabric (currently out of stock) that is the inspiration for this giveaway. Except in this case you can tell me what color or type of cotton fabric you might like such as a particular color, batik, or cats/novelty. And I will fill a USPS envelope with that fabric.

For a chance to win, leave a comment specifying what color/theme of fabric you would like. If you are anonymous, I will need you to include your email address so I can contact you to let you know you won and to get your mailing address. The comment collection phase will last through Nov. 4, 2023 11:59 pm, west coast time.  The random drawing will be conducted by Molly Kitten Emeritus, which ensures that the drawing will be corrupt, but entirely mysterious.

Unfortunately, participates are limited to those who live in the U.S. (or have a U.S. mailing address to use) due to international postal rates.

I would also like to mention that despite a photo showing Molly in a decidedly grumpy mood, she can be unrelentingly affectionate, filled with purring and trills, and endless snuggling with kneading. I have no photos of this because it only happens at 3:00 AM when the photographer is trying to sleep.

Because I make a lot of scrap quilts, comfort quilts, I go through a lot of low volume fabrics (neutrals) to massage all those different fabrics into playing nice with each other. I don't care if they are regular cotton, light print, batik- just the low intensity fabrics. They are incredibly valuable for HSTs, thin lattice strips, small squares. I realize that this is a very narrow ask, but very vital. Thanks a bunch. Rosie is into treating me like a negative force field today and taking wide berths near me. It is cold here today, so I expect she will change her tune mid day.

I have decided to take the plunge again and participate in the Bonnie Hunter Mystery. So I could use the deep indigo blues, tidal blues, and neutrals. Of course, if some kitty fabric mysteriously made it in to the envelope, that would be fine too. Love your blog and I love the seahorse border.

Thank you for offering a giveaway. Browns, oranges, or reds are probably the skimpiest color groups in my fabric. Although I’d enjoy using any colors. I’m currently making Color Stix blocks. I’m planning both a warm-colored top, and a cool one.

Hi Sally, thanks for this opportunity to win a package of fabric. Any kind of cotton animal fabric, in any color, would be fun. I have a farm with alpacas, chickens, turkeys, noisy geese, pigs, goats and a number of hard working cats who frequently catch mice and voles...in case you're considering what animals might peak my interest. But we love all sorts of animals.

I've got one of those night-kneading cats, too. Unfortunately she's never learned to do it with her claws tucked in. Nothing like being stabbed in the butt with handfuls of needles to wake you out of a sound sleep. The cat just thinks I'm randomly shouty and wishes I'd keep the noise down.
(As far as fabric for your fabulous only-semi-corrupt generous giveaway - I'm currently working on two quilts using blues, and now Bonnie Hunter's mystery announcement makes it look like I'll have three...)

I would love some blues, greens and neutrals! I am enjoying watching your gridlock quilt take shape!

I'm very excited about blues and neutrals at the moment! I have one kitty who is only affectionate at night (she's part vampire, I think.) The minute I get into bed she up and on me and quite demanding of attention...and a bit angry if her brothers want affection, too!

I would say oranges and light browns would make me happy, and of course anything with dogs. Thanks!

Hello- I'd love any red, white, blue or patriotic fabric you'd care to part with since I enjoy making scrappy QOV projects. Thanks for this giveaway, very generous of you.
PS- I have a small but ferocious feline, Catimus Minimus.

I wasn't sure how all those blocks your were making were going to fit together, but up on your design wall they look like they go together. Will be interesting to see this progress.

As for the fabric give away, critters of any species, music, and any colors or neutrals.

I love the fabrics you are using in Gridlock. Funky, abstract, brights, neutrals all work for me. Really enjoying watching Gridlock come together.

I'm primarily interested in turquoise and purple but would be happy with whatever you choose to send. Let's face it, someone else's scraps are always far more interesting than my own. Thank you for the offer!

My stash could really use more yellow and orange fabrics, but my favorites are the blue-greens like turquoise and teal.
