Sewing Machine Rest Day

Today I didn't sew anything, but there was a lot of fabric fondling. I finished pulling and packing blues for the November giveaway and expect to take it to the post office tomorrow. I also found more fabric to add to the Gridlock quilt. And I have noticed that I have added a lot of Nancy Crow fabric (designed for Jon Kaldor around the year 2000).

I recently watched a talk she gave for an exhibition and her thought process is so unique: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzAPxkRDC-M

I realize that every quilter has their own busy beehive brain that a final quilt never fully reveals. Mine is on the simple side...just looking for any reason to go back and paw through more fabric, try more blocks etc. just to stay in the sweet spot of the process: fabric hunt, cut, sew.

And just in case were wondering what a formidable kitten looks like...

Ha, I wonder what you had to give in for to pass the tower of power. Just gorgeous fabrics that I have never seen. My brain has so much crammed in, that trying to get it out is not a simple task but I keep trying.

Thanks for the link to the Nancy Crow talk. I've seen her quilts (well, pictures of them) but had never heard her talk about them. VERY interesting lecture!

I took Nancy Crow workshops in 1985 and 1002 and always want to hear her give a presentation. Thanks for the link. By the way I have an extensive collection of Nancy Crow fabrics if you would like some.

How very beautiful Molly kitten is - I didn't realise how much white she had on her- and that expression - priceless. Your fabric choices are really good, I'm discovering that many fabrics I don't think I'd go for, actually work well together who knew? Well - simple pleasures and small brains and all that...Elaine in UK

Such a little love! Where would we be without our furry overlords?
