Time for a Fabric Giveaway

I will discuss the fabric giveaway at the end of this post, but first I want to clarify some of the vocabulary from yesterday's post. The photo above shows CATs. Condolences and congratulations if you don't have some of these lying around your sewing space (sleeping space and wherever they decide they want to go.) And yes, the vet told Buddy that he has to lose TWO pounds, but he was being fed a Churu snack at the time so I think he may have misunderstood the whole losing weight concept.

Here are some of the fabrics that I pulled to hang out with the Roots fabric line by e bond that I plan to turn into a GridLock quilt. I will have to find more lights and darks suitable for the grid part of the quilt. Right now I would say this quilt is at the POF stage where POF stands for Pile of Fabric. Many of my quilt projects stay at this stage until they become a TH (tripping hazard).

And now let's talk fabric giveaway...I'm in the middle of moving my flat folds from room to room and I thought it would be nice if we trimmed some of the fabric and it could live a happier life somewhere else as a scrap. Fat Quarter Shop has a scrap bag with cuts of 4 to 7 inches that run the width of the fabric (currently out of stock). I'm thinking of providing something similar except it will come in a USPS envelop (not a cute bag) and you can specify the color or type of cotton fabric you would like (generally), like color, batik, novelty, multi-color etc. And I promise no one will receive a silk tie.

If you would like to participate, you will have to live in the U.S. because, as I understand it, postal rates are still crazy. For a chance to win, leave a comment specifying what color/theme of fabric you would like. If you are anonymous, I will need you to include your email address so I can contact you to let you know you won and to get your mailing address. The comment collection phase will last through Oct. 4, 2023 11:59 pm, west coast time.  The random drawing will be conducted by Molly Kitten Emeritus, which ensures that the drawing will be corrupt, but entirely mysterious.

Those are very pretty root fabrics! Your Buddy looks a lot like my little stray kitty Lucky, who just joined our household after being nearly dinner for a hawk. I would love to throw my hat in the ring for some medium blues!!

Good morning. I am so glad to see you blogging again after taking the summer off. I missed hearing about Molly's and Buddy's antics! If you have any NEUTRALS I am always in need of different ones. Thank you.

I am fond of batiks and would enjoy some scraps. My cat friends often sleep elsewhere. One of them steals my notions off the table!

Those are some cool fabrics you pulled. I am currently making an I Spy quilt for my grandnephew so any novelty fabric of any color would be fun to add to the quilt.

Thank you for the giveaway and for sharing your ever fun and creative projects. Ohhhh, the opportunity for more scraps. What’s not to love about that. I’d be interested in anything bright and/or neutrals.

You have some beautiful fabrics to add to the eroot group. I have many POF. One I'm considering actually cutting and sewing is from at least 9 years ago, maybe longer.
I don't need any more fabric so I'll pass on your generous giveaway.

Could you stuff Buddy into the scrap bag also? I like colors and batiks. Please sign me up.

I am not picky. I would take anything that you are ready to part with. Surprises are way more fun! Thank you for a chance to win.

Before heading back to my own POF project, I'll make a bid for kids' novelty fabrics. I've recently started sewing twin-sized quilts for my local chapter of "Sleep in Heavenly Peace", but have few of those kinds of fabrics.

If you too have little to none of them, my reply can be tossed from the pull (or you can print it out and give to Buddy to chew on. Maybe it'll help with his weight loss.)

Sadly, the cats keep turning my POFs into LOFs - Landslides of Fabric. Sadly for me, of course. They seem to get a great deal of fun out of it.

I am loving what you've got pulled for Gridlock, can't wait to see it evolve. I would be interested in any scraps with the exception of batiks.

I love your fabric give-a-ways in that you let Molly participate. If I am selected, elected or otherwise chosen, green/blue would be my coloring of choice. Molly, there’s treats promised for selecting me, delivered asap ;-)

Well, it seems as though I love all scraps. I am always looking for more yellow or gold fabric/scraps. Thank you for the opportunity to enter the giveaway. If I should be fortunate enough to win, I would be happy with whatever you select. (shirparks@gmail.com)

I would love to have batiks - light, medium, dark values, whatever. :)

I use all my scraps to make charity quilts - usually baby quilts to give to kids in Baltimore.

POF! I'll be laughing about that for a long time although perhaps I shouldn't. I have caught the scrap quilt fever and I like surprises. Thanks for your generousity!

If Molly can find any neutrals after considering all the previous comments I'd be honored to receive some. And in my world neutrals can include bright orange, lime green and purple.

My POFs are generally stacked along the edges of my cutting table, leading to occasional OF (cascades of fabric.) I would love yellow and orange or turquoise or batiks or neutrals (most anything, really. )

I'm getting ready to start a Lucy Boston quilt, so I could use anything except novelty prints. Thank you so much for your generosity, and I'm happy to see you're back to blogging!
